lol. Yeah, but you are trying to quit, aren't you? Or at least after the

holidays and move. ;)

I know in thyroid disease in general smoking is supposed to increase risks

of all symptoms. I specifically remember cadmium to be implicated in being

hard on thyroid and adrenals.

These two links don't discuss risks but it is interesting info.

The only risk I could think of off the top of my head would be heart risks

but I imagine if a person ramps up the T3 slowly that could be controlled

and is more related to the smoking.

Is T3 treatment more risky if you are a smoker?

I'm still here.

I think you have to use the Cutler counting rules on hair tests. Mine showed

really high. Not from smoking but just other exposures. Cheri

Re: T3/smoking/risky?

Funny I too have read about the cadmium and thyroid problems but I've

never had a trace show up on a hair analysis and I've had many. I wonder if

it's like mercury and doesn't show up in hair because it's embedded in the

tissues.

The greater risk is when you STOP SMOKING. For many people their

bodies react as if their thyroid was removed & they become severely

Hypo & it trashes the adrenals. This is what happened to me & my husband.

Withdrawal from the thousands of chemicals in cigarettes is very hard

on the body. It will be 2 years in March for me & I am not

straightened out yet.
