Guest guest
lol. Yeah, but you are trying to quit, aren't you? Or at least after the holidays and move. I know in thyroid disease in general smoking is supposed to increase risks of all symptoms. I specifically remember cadmium to be implicated in being hard on thyroid and adrenals. These two links don't discuss risks but it is interesting info. Guest guest
I think you have to use the Cutler counting rules on hair tests. Mine showed really high. Not from smoking but just other exposures. Cheri Re: T3/smoking/risky? Funny I too have read about the cadmium and thyroid problems but I've never had a trace show up on a hair analysis and I've had many. I wonder if it's like mercury and doesn't show up in hair because it's embedded in the tissues. .

Guest guest
The greater risk is when you STOP SMOKING. For many people their bodies react as if their thyroid was removed & they become severely Hypo & it trashes the adrenals. This is what happened to me & my husband. Withdrawal from the thousands of chemicals in cigarettes is very hard on the body. It will be 2 years in March for me & I am not straightened out yet.
