Guest guest
In regards to feeling so good about having such a small amount on your plate compared to what everyone has on theirs - This kinda bums me out. I wish I could look at it with your positive eyes and attitudes. I just feel like I'm missing out on something. It bothered me more at Thanksgiving when we were all sitting around the table together. It's not as bad when we just nibble here and there. Guess I'm still sort of in mourning for those big plates full of food sometimes. Am I nuts or what? Guest guest
No. Sometimes we just long for normalcy. OUR normalcy. But it passes. The way I look at it is that the bad new is, I couldn't pig out. The good new is I couldn't pig out----- so I'm carrying no guilt! Guest guest
Hugs you tight Jeanne - this is so difficult - I know. I had kind of the same feelings - but not continuous - I didn't want a big plateful - but - I wanted SWEETS!! So - duh - I ate part of a piece of coconut cream pie - I wanted it - I had to have it - I had it - I was sick for 2 days - gadzooks - way way sick hon...it was the worst escapade of dump I can even imagine (and I DID go to work those two days- figured that I wasn't contagious and I did it to myself - and - had to be there regardless) - and I swore I'd never do it again. Well - here I am - with ONE piece of the doggone coconut cream pie in the fridge - yup - somedays I am just a SLOW learner yanno - and - two BITES later - I was sick. Lots and lots and lots of water - and removal of the offending pie - yeah - I'm one of those that vomits when it gets bad - won't stay down - I feel better - lets hope that the second time was a charm - I felt SOOOOOO bad today - how dumb is that?? I threw out the rest of the doggone pie - sad thing - it wasn't even that GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please hang in there - and don't feel bad - they are your feelings and they are real and they are ok to have - its gonna be fine I am sure - just takes each of us a different learning curve now - hugshugs and good thoughts for ya- deb in NE Re: Spooki: My holiday thoughts In regards to feeling so good about having such a small amount on your plate compared to what everyone has on theirs - This kinda bums me out. Guest guest
Thanks for the hugs Deb. I've been attracted to those sweets, too, but been able to stop after a few bites and have not gotten sick. So glad we're in this together. It helps so much. Take care.
