Guest guest
You know what? I was wondering what I could eat at Taco Bell! LOL I'm just playing. You sound like your getting bored with the limitations of what we're supposed to eat. I am too. Hang in there, I hear it gets better! Guest guest
, I found myself doing exactly the same thing this holiday. I wanted to eat with the family. Actually, it started a little before the holiday when I went up to New Hampshire to get trained on my Segway and have dinner with Dean Kamen at his fabulous home with the other early delivery contest winners. I wanted to be able to eat at least a bite or two of most things. Yes, I blocked my stoma once (on vitamins, believe it or not!), but was able to " be with " the other guys - with at least a bite of steak and a small bite of the lobster, plus the pecans from the salad and the french bread " melba toast " spread with the brie cheese, all the mashed potatoes and a few tiny bites of the dessert. Yesterday I got back on my softer foods - ref beans for dinner, an egg for breakfast, a couple of small slices of ham for lunch, chewed into oblivion. I think I'm going to save the knowledge that if I chew my foods really, really well I seem to be able to eat whatall for very special occasions, and continue to work with my pouch's lack of hunger to take the rest of this weight off. Guest guest
Well, here we go... I didn't think I'd try this so soon being only 12 days out of surgery but I was out with Tony yesterday and he was hungry and wanted to stop at Taco Bell. So I got a soft taco. No lettuce. It only had meat and cheese in it. I didn't eat the tortilla, I unrolled it and ate some of the meat and cheese. About 1/2 cup and everything was fine. Not one of your more lower fat meals but it took care of some of the protein for my day and made me feel normal again. I've been constipated from not eating enough fat. But the cool thing is.... I would have eaten about 3 or 4 of them before my surgery. Tony teases me and says I'm a cheap date now! (cost him less than a dollar to feed me) He's such a mess! I don't mind being teased in this way tho... it sure beats being teased about that rather than overeating. Luvs, Selena > Try to stay away from flour tortillas. Guest guest
Selena, It does feel strange to eat only one item. I love the crunchy tacos from Taco Bell. I think the crunch adds to my chewing. My mother is Mexican so I am use to all of the foods. I know that flour tortillas are my downfall, we had them at every meal. My father was born and raised in the hills of Arkansas. He loved spicy foods, the hotter the better, lol. I chose not raise my children on those foods twenty years ago. I leave the food as a treat for holiday's or weekends. I also tell my hubby that I am a cheap date but a long one since we take so long to eat, lol. Blessings in your journey to a healthier life. Hugs, ps Maybe you could throw your leftover tortilla for those birds that hang out looking for leftover food. I try to feed the animals during the winter. Funny, my dog is enjoying my new way of life, he sits under me and shares my meal, lol. He misses the days when we had three in high chairs to throw him food. Guest guest
3 days pre-op, I had home made tortillas. My friend made them every other day for her family. Oh. My. Gosh. With butter. Of course, it wasn't surgery that took them away, it was moving. Darn it.
