Very interesting. I would not begin this without a lot of prayer support. I am

telling as many people as possible and asking all of them to pray for me,

especially the day of the surgery. Fortunately, all of my friends are wonderful

praying people who are totally supportive. I go to a large church that has an

intercessory prayer ministry so many, many people will be praying for me and it

gives me a peace I don't think I could have otherwise. To all who request

prayer, I always send up a prayer for you as soon as I read your request. I am

sure that many others on this list do also. I also lift the good Dr. R up with

every prayer. Best wishes to all.

Prayer

I have noticed several of you mention prayer to each other. I

recently saw an article that some major hospitals have actually been

studying the effect of prayer on people undergoing surgical

procedures. They enlisted as many to pray for the patient during

surgery as possible and found that there was a discernable difference

and improvement for the patients who were prayed for as opposed to

similar cases where there was no prayer. The article concluded that

there was a possibility that someday soon there may be something

like a department of prayer in surgical units. Interesting, Yes?

Hmm.. Just please don't lift him up too high with those prayers.. Don't want

him floating away while he's operating on someone ya know.. hehehe

Hi everyone..

I spoke with my mother tonight and found out some bad news. My brother

had a test for colon cancer done and found out that he has a " mass " that is

about 4 cm... Colon cancer runs in our family <everyone on my mothers side

has died from colon cancer, and her uncle was only 26 when he died of it>

and my mother had this same thing happen to her years ago. Luckily they

caught it in time and they were able to get it all out of her before it

spread.. She was told that this type of mass is almost always cancerous.

The chance that it is not is about 1 in 10... Not very good odds.. My

brother is only 32 years old.. He will be in surgery on Friday March 24th..

Please, I beg all of you. Please pray that they will be able to get it all

and he will be free of cancer. God hears many voices easier than just one

voice!!! Thank you..

In my thoughts and prayers,

Terri

Hi ..

I think I will.. Nahh.. If I am going to have ti done, iw ant to make

sure they look at *everything*! Could you please tell me what the prep

includes? Why is it yucky? If you want, you can email it to me privately..

Of course, this is information everyone could use.. :)

In my thoughts and prayers,

Terri

btw.. My brother had the barium done.. I am so afraid to have one done since

both my aunt and grandfather dies right after.. My aunt died <I was told>

because of the toxicity... Do they do that with either procedure or is it a

different test altogether? Hmm.. Maybe i should go research it?? hehehe

Sue R- my deepest prayers and thoughts are with you; god what an awful, awful

tragedy. I am an ex New Yorker and I cannot believe what has happened. I am a

human being always and the devastation is beyond comprehension. If I were

healthy I would go volunteer. I used to live in the area of St. s

Hospital. God, . I will pray. Love, Joyce
