Guest guest
Mike, When did you have your surgery? I don't know if I would be able to keep up with you yet, but if you ever want someone to walk with, I could use a buddy once in awhile. I can't wait to get back to water aerobics at the local YMCA. Dr. Li told me I had to wait 2 weeks. I want to start taking my son to the park and stuff more. I have been so tired since surgery, we only went to the SF Zoo on Friday for a couple of hours. I'd like to start walking around the lake, but sometimes it is hard to get my husband to want to go with me. He's usually wiped by the time he gets home from work. I need my butt kicked to get exercising. There's a treadmill downstairs that my Mother-In-Law lets me use, but I don't feel I can walk that fast yet. I'd probably fall off the darn thing! Guest guest
Thank you . You are right, which is why I am going to stop feeling so darn guilty about them not having it. Giroux wrote: I'm going to make copies of my before picture and tape it on the fridge and every cabinet door there is in this house that holds food. if that don't stop me nothing will. I had my S.O. take a pic of me yesterday(because I was dressed and out of the house for a family reunion) that I will keep as a before pic. Try doing this and see if it works. If not imagine your kids in twenty years sading and cramming cookies and weighing 200+ pounds and that should get the bad food out of the house because they don't need it either. I wish I had done this when my kids were little because I now have two obese adult children and i know it is because of the bad habits I exhibited for them. Shauna Thalman wrote: Good Afternoon Everyone! Ok, I need to be accountable here. I need a kick in the A**!!! So! Today, I let my kids eat all the cookies they wanted and ice cream and throwing out what's left. Needless to say they are loving this. I cannot have the crap in this house. I went for the cookies AGAIN today!!!! I have worked out for 3 days except today. I went to bed at 4am doing homework and stuff. So I am tired and I got the screw it attitude and then asked myself, Do I love myself enough. I do, so everything goes. I did pretty good the last couple of days, however, I also discovered fruit snacks, ALL NO NO's! I need a protein train. Also, I was thinking, maybe we can have a Exercise train too. Where whoever would like to join can do straight exercise for One week, everyday doing something and being accountable on here to each other. I need the help and since I am too far from everyone, maybe this will help. Any thoughts anyone??? Shauna I just can't do this to myself... making myself sick physically is absolutely REDICULOUS!!!!! Unacceptable!!!! I checked out Karate classes and salsa classes, I am picking up one or the other when my kids go back to school. I need more activity AWAY from the house! Guest guest
Hi , Thank you!!!!!! for the response. I do have a pair of size 7 goal pants haning up over my scale in my room. I think its a great idea to put them in the kitchen somewhere!!! Thanks for that idea!!! Hmm... I can go through a magazine and pull pictures and hang them up of other goals like a hair style or massage. I am HUGE on visuals THANK YOU!!! Great ideas!! I have a hard time writing down everything I eat. The truth is, when I am doing good, I have a schedule on how I eat... FINALLY got into the habit too... I know exactly what I eat everyday and how much. It's usually the same things. Protein shake, eggs, chicken, yogurt, and cheeses. That's it. Water and sometimes Ice tea with splenda. I do need to set up a schedule again for school and kids. Get them out to the park. That makes me more active. I think i'll go to walmart this week and buy some outside stuff for the kids and I. I have salsa cardio crunch workout that I LOVE and tae bo. When the kids go back to school, I will be starting either salsa dance classes or taekwondo. LOVE karate!! I took it before for a short time. LIsa thank you for sharing with me and helping me with such fantastic ideas!!!!! I am on it tonight and tomorrow. I am so glad you like the powder I suggested. Not bad and not too expensive. Not like I thought anyways. Good luck on you incorporating some of these ideas yourself!!! I know I can do this. I just let some emotional stuff get the best of me... I need to learn to control it. Sabataging is not great. Best Wishes, Shauna Woodard wrote: Sorry to hear about the bad day again! It's a good idea getting it all out of the house tho. If the temptation isn't there...you won't be as likely to give in. It kills me to walk thru the grocery store because I see so many things I like; but can't have. The only thing that gets me thru is thinking how I will look in a year. Do you have a pair of " goal " pants hanging on your wall? Maybe you should hang them up in the kitchen. :-) Having them right next to the food might give you a little bit more encouragement. Or if you've set yourself another reward like a makeover, a massage, or something like that for hitting a goal make you a big sign & hang on the refridgerator and on your cabinets to remind you of what you REALLY want. Having something tangible like that helps a lot. Also, do you keep a food journal of what you eat? That helps me tremendously to be accountable for what goes in my mouth. I was just doing it in a little notebook; but at Wal-Mart today I treated myself to a nice planner that I can carry back and forth to work w/ me so that I can keep track of everything. I start back to work tomorrow. I think it will help you to get out of the house once the kids are back in school too. I know going back to work is going to be good for me even if I don't want to go. LOL! Hey you might want to check at the local library & see if they have any workout tapes you could borrow. Some libraries loan out videos. That might help put a little variety into your exercising. On a side note...I got some of that protein mix from walmart you were telling me about. It's pretty good. It's not thick. I just hope it doesn't make my rash come back! Guest guest
No problem Shauna! That's what friends are for! I am huge on visuals too. That's why I suggested put it in your kitchen. You'll see it a lot more! Great idea for the mag pictures & stuff too! If you have a schedule of what you eat...maybe write out that schedule & post it in your kitchen. That way you won't eat anything except what's on the schedule. Maybe do a check off list or something. Just a thought.... I thought about getting some outside stuff too once Kelsey comes home. I'd love to have a badminton set! :-) LOL Frisbees are fun too! And when I lose a little more weight I want to buy a bicycle so I can ride w/ Kelsey. Maybe that's a good goal to set for myself for my birthday on Oct. 1. Hmmmm.... I would love to take karate lessons! I wonder if I could maybe get myself & my daughter in a class together. That'd be great! I might think about that for this winter! 380/342/160 Shauna Thalman wrote: > Hi , Thank you!!!!!! for the response. > > I do have a pair of size 7 goal pants haning up over my scale in my room. Guest guest
Shauna, I had to do the same thing. I had to stop buying some of the treats my son has, I was the one always eating them! It helps not having it in the house! I think the exercise train is also a good idea. Stacey in Germany > Ok, I need to be accountable here. I need a kick in the A**!!! So!
