Guest guest
Dear Jim, Thanks for the updates. I know Shirley is continually on my mind and in my prayers. Even at work they ask how she is doing! Give her my love and tell her I wouldn't dream of not praying for her:-} And take care of yourself too, hear? Have a peaceful holiday. Guest guest
hello everyone, i hope this finds all of us in better health as the new year approaches. sorry i have been off for awhile since i got my first computer virus and i went out of town for Christmas. computer is up and i will update everyone on Shirley. first off sorry for taking so long to respond to your question. i spoke with Shirley today she sends her love to everyone and she is hoping to be home sometime next week. her major complaint is trying to keep her blood sugars under control. apparently she is still receiving tube feedings around the clock along with an insulin drip. this is keeping her sugars 160-170's. she was vomiting last night but better today. i asked her if she was up to receiving phone calls yet and she asked please dot call her at this time. she is feeling weak and it is better for her not to receive them at this time. She Saudi she will post as son as she gets home and let everyone know how things are going. she is hoping to start eating again this week to see how everything goes through. If I hear anything else I will let you all know. Jim s

I've been keeping you in my heart and prayers, hoping this works and that you have a full recovery. I'm so sorry you're still in pain and not able to eat much. Hope that changes - soon. I'll be reading the postings to see how you're doing. Love, Helen >> Thanks Helen. It is so nice to hear from you. Thank you so very much for praying for me. I am going to the feeding tube again starting tonight. Maybe that will give me a little more strength. The only problem with that though is it makes me so sick to my stomach. I dread taking it. Guest guest
Shirley, I guess we all tolerate foods differently. I only use Pam, no oils or butters. I'm going to wait a few more weeks before I try it again. At least now I have an expanded list of foods and can start chicken and tuna today, so I'll have good options for protein. Thanks. Joan lap RNY 11/18/03 Dr. Higa, Fresno, CA 282/250/140 Re:Joan and scrambled eggs Joan, I had my surgery the same day as you and I have been eating scrambled eggs from day 7or 8 with no problems. My surgeon told me at my 2 week check-up to begin eating anything I could tolerate except steak and bread. Did you scramble it in butter or oil? I just spray the skillet with Pam when I fix my egg. Maybe it will be better the next time you try it, if you can ever munster up the nerve to try again........... Guest guest
I would go broke without the commissary! That's where we shop each week. Each time the base closure committee starts talking about this base, I worry about having to go to Columbus for the commissary there (2 hours away) rather than Albany which is about 30 minutes away. Shirley Shirley, I will TRY (try being the keyword) to remember to put mine in an envelope to you each week. I know this week's got tossed into reclycling already so it will be the first of the week before I have any extra. Thanks for doing this for our troops. PS. I wasn't aware that there were commissaries anymore. Dumb me. Take care of yourself.Hugs,MelindaPlease visit our website at:http://ACES_Autoimmune.tripod.com
