Hi, I'm from East Liverpool OH about 45

minutes from Pittsburgh. I am still waiting. I will

be having mine at Sewickely PA by Dr. Wilcox.

Hi ! :-) I have family in OH. Akron area. We were up there about a

month and a half ago! Welcome to the group! I'm W. (there are several of

us) I'm 4 weeks post op tomorrow! This is a great bunch. Very supportive!

Hi Leann, and and Shauna!

I had my surgery at UPMC St Margaret's in Pittsburgh on 6/13/06. I go

through East Liverpool on the way to Pitt every time I have to go down.

Hi, I haven't had anything done yet. I am a true

newbie. My dr. makes you go to a seminar before he

will even make an appointment to see him. Do you have

any idea how it nomally takes to get the ball rolling

after your initial appointment? My first appt. is

August 15. Good luck with everyhing and let me know

how i goes.

All of my process is dictated by the insurance co. I don't have to

have copies of any certain diets or anything so it's pretty quick. I

had my oroginal consultation at the of May and hopefully surgery at

the end of Aug. I have to call the surgeon's office in the morning to

make sure I have all I need to be good to go. My hardest part is

trying to quit smoking. I am doing ok with it but might need some

kind of psych med to get through it. I can't have the surgery done

until I am not smoking.

Leeann,

Quitting smoking is very hard. I quit cold turkey 6

years this November. Of course, I had to be in a car

wreck, have one of my arteries dissect from my heart

and be in a medical coma to do it. LOL But

nonetheless I did it. I don't know that I could have

done it otherwise. Personally, I liked to smoke. I

mean if I had will power I would look like Elle

McPherson (in my dreams) instead of Roseanne Barr.

Did you contact the insurance company? of did they

contact you through the doctor? I have no idea what

steps I will have to do. I guess I will find out

August 15.

You can mail me off list if you want. I will be glad

to talk you down off the ledge when the smoke haze

starts to clear.
