Guest guest
Hi Ethel. Where can I get " ConcenTrace " and " RealSalt? " Also, can anyone explain a little more about flares? When you flare do you flare most in the joints where RA has set in already, the joints that have the most damage, or can new joints be affected? Any answers? I'm a mess right now. I could use a wheelchair. Guest guest
Kimmie, Speaking from personal experience, arthritic flares come an go depending in large part on the weather, the type of food eaten during the past two days, and probably other factors as well. During a flare, the affected joints and muscles keep hurting, only more so. Joints and muscles that were not a factor earlier may also start to hurt. A flare is an escalation of what already existed. It's all a matter of degree. The frustrating part of RA and its close relative fibromyalgia (muscle pain) is that pain comes and goes for reasons that few people understand. If I had all the answers on what causes flares and how to avoid them, I would no longer be reading these emails. However, I know the AP, the right food supplements, and diet control can be very beneficial. I have gotten a lot better since my RA started in 1999. This Spring I was almost cured, or so I thought. In what climate to you live? What food supplements are you taking? Do you eat " bad " foods, like beef, tomatoes and other nightshade plants? Or do you eat " good " foods like salmon? Guest guest
Hi , sometimes I'm so good at diet and at other times I let it go. Right now I haven't been that good. I live in the Phoenix area. And something about my supplements. I started taking several kinds recently: Calcium/magnesium, acidolphilis, brewers yeast, ester c, folic, zinc, CQ10, L-glutamine, selenium, glucosamine/chondroiton, salmon oil. I'm suspecting problems with gluc/chon. I have broken out in hives in the past after eating clams. I wonder, can you list supplements that can sometimes worsen RA? My left ankle is pretty much bone on bone. This is my worst problem. It's very swollen, more than usual, and I can barely stand on it now. Also, I rode a bike for 10 miles 2 weeks ago. I've gone biking many times in the past and never had a problem even with my messed up ankle. Other joints that normally bother me are also worse. Thanks, Kimmie Re: rheumatic Re: flares on AP? > Kimmie, > > Speaking from personal experience, arthritic flares > come an go depending in large part on the weather, > the type of food eaten during the past two days, and > probably other factors as well.
