Guest guest
Beth there is no real average for weight loss with anyone. I think I was around 15 pounds the first week. But I weighted on my scale the morning I left for my surgery so I would know. But I honestly think a good part of that was water weight. Don't get discouraged. It starts and stops with all of us. I got to 198 last week and have not budged since then even though I am eating no differently. It will just go like that. Some days it will move so fast and some days it drags. But you will lose. The pain on the left side seems to be very common. I also had it. I believe that is where they put the tool they use for the stapling so there is alot more movement there. That is what my doc said anyway. It goes away in a few weeks. Candi question Hi all, I had my surgery on 20 Nov and am wondering what the average weight loss for some of you guys were in the first week after surgery. I have a follow up with my doc tomorrow and will find out then how much on his scale, but my scale only shows a loss of 3LBS....and i know that I am sticking to the liquids like I am supposed to...Just wanted to see what it was for others. Also, I have lots of pain in my left side, and I can assume this is because most of the work was done, yes??? I did have mine LAP and had no problems with the surgery. thanks for answer these few questions beth
Guest guest
any of those would work for me. I'd like to keep it east coast if possible. Kathy question I'm having a brain fart and plotting something. If I book a resort condo for a week, who would really really be willing to try to make the trip? I'm wondering if some of us could get together this summer. I'll pay for the condo and food at the condo and you each pay for your trip there (wherever I get it) and eating out expenses if you don't like sandwiches. Can I see a show of hands for those who would really make the effort and also if you would like to do this, what location would you prefer? I found one at Bonaventure Spas in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida but I only did a preliminary search in Florida so I'm still open to any ideas. Anyone interested? By the way, the fee for the condo includes all spa amenities, pool, tennis (hehe) etc. Christy Just remember...if the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off. Please visit our website at:http://ACES_Autoimmune.tripod.com

Guest guest
I set off the alarms every time I go through security at the airport so always have them checking my shoes...sometimes on and sometimes off. My underwire also set them off and so do my knees. I had to go to our local motor vehicle department last week because I had lost my handicap placard. The security at that building is even tighter than at the airport. They even had me unload my purse. I think it was my lipstick that was showing up on the monitor that was odd looking...or it plus something else together. I really don't mind the searches as long as they can keep the airlines safer. Something interesting that I had not seen or noticed before on planes I've flown in the past two years...they had removed the drape between first class and cabin for safety reasons. Jane > Did Ronnie get there yet? Let us know. > I always decide not to let myself worry, LOL--when I " M the one flying. If it's any of the rest of my family or friends I worry. > > When we were watching the news last night they had that thing about terrorists using socks to smuggle in components to a bomb. Then they said that the guy with the sock was a friend of the " shoe bomber " . OK, I KNOW it's a serious subject, AND it was the national news not the Daily Show, but I just looked at Denny and said " OK, they're just making this s**t up now! " I mean, come on-- socks and shoes? > If you wrote this stuff in a novel they wouldn't publish it because it's so ridiculous! > Kathy > RE: question > > > (Jumping up and down waving my hands) I wanta go, sounds good to me. Guest guest
I'd actually feel more secure if I thought it was actually helping. When Kayly and I went to Vegas we noticed that the only people that were asked to remove shoes in two different airports we went through were those wearing clogs, slides and sandals. They even wanded the bottom of our bare feet. Now I ask you--if they're going to be that lazy why bother. This was in Baltimore (BWI) and in Vegas. Both of which should be points of particularly high security. My underwires have never set off the alarms, but then most underwires aren't really wire anymore. Mom and Dad both have metal in them (knees for Mom and plate in his ankle for Dad) as does Denny. They all carry cards from their Docs, but of course still get checked. I guess I just don't think the kind of security in use would stop anyone bent on doing something. Kathy RE: question> > > (Jumping up and down waving my hands) I wanta go, sounds good to me. Guest guest
Christy, I'm behind on email again; reading the newer ones first. I'd like to get together, but I have a problem - I have never flown alone & I don't think I can (it's a fear I don't like, don't understand, but can't get rid of). I can't drive very far by myself, either, because I just don't have the stamina. So, I guess you'd better count me out. -- question I'm having a brain fart and plotting something. Guest guest
Ronnie made it and that pain in the butt called me every HOUR until he left at 8:30 this morning LOL He left here at about 1:00 am. It's a little over 3 hours to the airport and they said be 3 hours early so he had lots of time. Going through security, they were making everyone take their shoes off!!! I thought that was crazy too but they are straight serious about it! They had to put their shoes on the conveyor to be x-rayed. OK I just wondered about laptops? I mean almost everyone has one and you can't x-ray them so how do they make sure it's a laptop and not something "else?" Anyway, Ronnie's having a great time with his friend. They've just been sitting around talking all day which is JUST what his friend needs right now. He's doing much better since his bypasses and Ronnie said he looks good. He'll be staying with them and coming home Monday night. RE: question (Jumping up and down waving my hands) I wanta go, sounds good to me. Just us or spouses too?? Guest guest
Yeah, we did have to run our shoes through the x-ray, now that you mention that. The laptops they make you turn on so that they're "sure" it's just a laptop. But I mean really--how easy would it be to add a little boom into one and still have it boot up? Can you tell I wasn't impressed with airport security, LOL? But I do fly. I'm sure he'll have a safe trip. Kathy RE: question (Jumping up and down waving my hands) I wanta go, sounds good to me. I found one at Bonaventure Spas in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida but I only did a preliminary search in Florida so I'm still open to any ideas.> > Anyone interested?> > By the way, the fee for the condo includes all spa amenities, pool, tennis (hehe) etc.> > > Please visit our website at:> http://ACES_Autoimmune.tripod.com > >
