Tim - What a bummer. Your plate sure has been full. I hope that the doc is able to come up with a solution that doesn't require surgery and that you can get a break soon. I'll be thinking of oyu. Barbarailducks2004 wrote:

Just wanted to say hello to everyone and hope your doing well. Thought it easier to reply once to the many e-mails I have received wanting to see how I was doing. They did a MRI Orthogram last week and found that I have torn tendons in my shoulder. I see my orthopedic surgeon Tuesday, and I guess I will go from there.Haven't been up to getting on the computer much, lost a lot of motion in my arm and hand and the pain has really sucked. I finally just quit taking the two anitdepressents and pain medications and have finally gotten back to myself they were not doing anything for the pain but were keeping me in a lathargic fog. So I am finally in good spirits and can think for a change. Just wanted to say thanks for the inquiries and doing well and will talk to you all when I can sit at the computer a little

longer.Hope all is well with everyone and I am thinking of you all!Tim

Talk is cheap. Use Yahoo! Messenger to make PC-to-Phone calls. Great rates

Why don't you make a list & write down what you wanted to ask?Maybe

you could call them or stop by & ask the questions you forgot.

My family was all against this surgery until I had it & now I am doing

fine & losing weight so they have no problems with it.

Hi Jeanette,

My name is and I live in Australia. I had my WLS on May 10th this year. I

too had lots of fears and questions about the surgery but I also knew that this

was my last chance at leading a healthy life. It is not an easy way out as WLS

is only a tool to aid you in losing weight. You still have to change your eating

habits and exercise regularly. Only you will know what is best for you but if

you do decide to go through with the surgery we are all here for you. All the

best.

Hello

I am Jeanette Grove; I am 39 years old and have been morbidly obese most of

my life.

The idea of Weight Loss Surgery was first suggested to me by a physician

that I had while living in South Carolina. At first I have to admit I wanted

no part of this, I am not one to like physicians, hospitals, etc...

It wasn't till about 2 years ago, that I had decided to do some research and

check into having Weight Loss Surgery.

Honestly, I believed at the time that Weight Loss Surgery was I hate to say

it but " the easy way out " , but after the last year and all the visits to the

Doctors' office and the wait of Insurance Approval and listening to Post WLS

patients, I have realized this whole process is anything but easy.

Patience and Commitment these are two qualities I was believing that I

lacked, boy was I wrong (chuckle, chuckle) . I have found out that I cut

myself short when it comes to describing my good qualities, because my

friends and family tell me and have told me that I have to be the most

committed and patient person they know, at times I even cause them to get

upset because I am " too patient " and refuse to be persistent in fear that I

might be looked at as being " pushy "

Anyways, Title 19 (Medicaid) denied me the first time due to the fact that I

lacked 6 months or more of physician recommended and documented dietary

notes, so I am awaiting approval from Title 19 which should be any day.

I have a hernia on my C-Section incision that has been repaired 3 times now

and it needs immediate attention, so this is a plus because my PCP (Primary

Care Physician) and the Surgeon(s) .want to do the Lap Band and Hernia

repair at one time.

I am looking to your group as a way to obtain information, share experiences

support, and share information.

Thank You,

Jeanette Grove

I double or triple the Aleve for breakthrough pain. I take vicodin or Lortab

for really bad pain. I've also doubled up and alternated Aleve and Advil. My

regular meds are Naprosen and Tramadol and now Lyrica. Plus the Cymbalta helps.

Sorry should have been more explicit, Ican not take any NSAIDs as they make me

swell up and feeling like I can't breathe. The first time

ankle swelled so bad that I coulfd not wear a shoe. Went to the Dr. and he set

me up with aspecialist who asked me if I was taking any Vioxx. I went off of it

thank goodness since they took it off the marketI have tried

Aleve,Ibuprofen, naproxen, and they all had the same effect, I had a gastric by

pass quite a few years back so I cannot take Aspirin.

Thanks Angie
