Guest guest
Hi Val...this morning I ended up going to my dr. He gave me a shot of Solumedrol (120 mg) and confirmed hives. He did not think they were from food, but could not confirm it. He prescribed Clarycort twice a day, and to go back tomorrow for another shot of Celestone Conodose (no idea what that is), He never mentioned prednisone. I had not eaten anything before the visit and while there, I noticed the welps fading a bit and the itching was almost gone (BEFORE the injection). After the injection on the ride home I was feeling much better....got home...had lunch...and popped back into bed. 10 minutes later I was breaking out all over again...face/neck/trunk/legs everywhere...HUGE red itching welps. I called him and he told me to tr4y to get out of the house. I left, and while I was gone had them remove my xmas tree which I've read can cause mold spores. When I came home in the aft...I got worse again, so I left and checked myself into a hotel (I know it sounds crazy, but this is how desperate I am!). Did not feel better there, called the dr, again and he told me to go to the emergency room and get a shot of benadryl. After the shot, on the way home I had a sandwhich...all veggie. I started getting worse again. NOTHING NOTHING AT ALL HAS HELPED ME! I am at wits end. I decided to come home since I was no better at the hotel. I am starting to think that since I didn't have breakfast this morning and was getting somewhat better....and at lunch I had some spaghetti/salad and toasted bread....dinner was a sandwhich....maybe I am allergic to wheat or gluten or whatever? The two times I ate, I got worse afterwards and coincided with my two shots. I say this because can you actually get WORSE from cortisol shots or antihistamines? I can't think that that is what would have me like this....so then I have to turn to the food? I hear a lot about gluten intolerance but always associated it with diarheas and the like...not hives. Anyway...my story of today for what it's worth. Do you think the dr. gave me the right meds? Do you knnow if they have prednisone? Oh, and the pills of claricort are for 10 days...with no instructions on tapering. Appreciate anything Val...what's been done wrong....what's been done right....what else can I do? I am sitting here with hardly one patch of normal skin on my body. I don't think this is normal. Thing is, the doc never saw me like this....I was much better this mornign...altho still miserable. Thank you, naffy
