Guest guest
I think i am doing pretty well at this point, but i do have a few questions. I had upper and lower done by the way. I am wearing only elastics at this point and am allowed to take them off for 4 hours every day. I have been giving the ok to eat most soft foods, however i have been sticking with shakes, and soft foods like soup, oatmeal, chowder etc. My swelling is almost nonexistent on the right side and my sensation is pretty normal there as well. The left side however is still pretty numb and with that numbness comes the inability to smile normally. " lop sided smile " . Also the skin and muscles between my nose and upper lip seems very tight. Has anyone else had these type of symptoms. Overall I feel pretty good, but i am a little anoyed with the uneven smile which is apparent even when talking since the left side responds normally and the right i have to work at. I will say though that it has improved the last few days with some exercises. Hope everyone is doing well and if anyone has any comments, experience, thoughts etc for 16 days post op upper and lower, i would love to hear them. Thanks Barry
Guest guest
Hi Barry, Your post-op experience sounds a lot like mine. You're doing very well. I am now 2 months post-op and still have a lot of tightness in my upper lip. It hardly moves at all when I try to smile, talk or anything. People have told me I should be a ventriloquist because my lips don't move when I talk. My left side is also more numb than my right. On the right I have some tinglies when I touch it but nothing at all on the left. I've been told this could last up to a year or longer. This is all temporary and your smile should be back in no time. I hope you continue to do well. > I think i am doing pretty well at this point, but i do have a few > questions.
