Laurie,

You are only 7 weeks out. Don't do too many crackers. They are carbs...

Try your tuna maybe with tomato or egg..

I tried salad about 3 and 1/2 months out and tolerated it just fine.

I put almonds eggs and tuna in mine.

The reason I tried : I was sitting between two women at the Centennial Support

group meeting in Nashville and one tried it at 3 months and tolerated one tried

it and didn't tolerate it and still at over ayear doesn't do well with it.

I think you might wait a while.

I did alot of salmon and pork loin...

I basically still did some thick soup too.

Beans...cowders peas, blackeyed peas, lima beans, navy beans..

Refried beans with cheese.

Lots of cheeses...

It wasn't until now I really feel like I can just about eat anything BUT still

somethings can make me sick sometimes....Especially it seems chicken.

I have not tried steak as it is very dense.

If I get sick on something and fill stopped up I rest my pouch and do liquids or

blended for a day or two...

It is really all trial and error but you are not even 3 months out so don't

worry you will be able to do more.

I don't have but 100- 150 I guess inches of my duedeum by passed so I do not

have near the malabsorbtion issues as those who are distal...

Our surgeons say the pouch heals at about 4 to 6 weeks. Around the third month

it becomes more pliable and not so stiff. Hence the stretching capabilites...

the pouch allowing more food in.

We stay on soft proteins for 2 to 6 months. They don't even recommend trying

beef until month 6th.

I can do ground turkey and ground beef but not roast or steak (I have not tried

even)

Don't miss it either. It is recommendations but still I think it's slow and

easy.

Try one new food at a time so that if you don't tolerate something you know what

it is...

And keep trying , just because you don't tolerate something now doesn't mean you

won't later.

Good luck and it gets better from here on out...
