Hi Mark,

Thank you so much.

I have gone back to the store 5 days in a row (not to buy anything) to see if I

could see the cashier and get his name if I needed it. He hasnt been there at

all.

I recieved a call from a nice lady from the american disabilities act here in

Salem, she said she was very angry at what happened, and that she is waiting to

hear from the Oregon Advocacy Center to see if anything can be done or not.

I was very pleased to hear they got reprimandid, maybe atleast all the other

cashiers and management knows that this is not tolerated.

Thank you once again my friend, you have gone way out of the way too help. Sandy

Re: Bad day

Hi Sandy,

Mike , the General Counsel of Winco called today. He indicated

that it is Winco's policy to help handicapped whenever they need

it. He added that both the clerk that you spoke to and the manager

were both wrong when they said that they couldn't help you.

Both individuals have been reprimanded by Mr. .

> I had a bad day today that made me say a few choice words that I

dont normally say.

> We have a grocery store here in town called Winco foods. Its like

a discount grocery store that you bag your own groceries. I normally

take one of my sons with me but this time they were busy doing

things at home, so I went myself.

> I went through the store and filled the cart, probably at a guess

around 250.00 worth. I started putting the items on the belt waiting

for the person infront of me to get done. I nicely went up to the

cashier and said I am disabled, my right arm and hand just dont work

well, can I please have help on bagging my groceries and have help

out with them. He looked at me and said we dont do that, I said you

dont even do this for the handi-capped he said NO in a raised voice

and said thats just the way it is. I couldnt beleive it, I looked at

him and said a couple of words, then said well this is the way it

is, I hope you all have fun putting all these groceries away then

left. I am not a person that plays on my disability at all and it

burns my butt when I have to ask for help with something. I came

straight home and called the store and talked to the manager, he

told me the same thing that the cashier said.

> I told him, you know word of mouth goes a long ways and hung up.

> Was I wrong at getting so angry? Should have I stayed there and

took an hour to bag the groceries myself?

> I would really appreciate your veiws on this. Sandy
