Guest guest
Mike, I started the AP November 11, 1997. For a month I tried the twice daily routine my doctor wanted me to follow and I was even dizzy. After that I followed Dr. Brown's three times weekly protocol and for five months was in the worst pain of my life. Then very gradually, things started to improve. Everyone is different. Try to support your body with good nutrition, lots of water and helpful supplements during your " herx " time. (RA 25+ years, AP since Nov. 97) rheumatic Methotrexate - how long to become effective > Hi All, > > My lack of success (actually getting worse again) with AP is forcing me to > add Methotrexate. It started working for me in about 1 month, but normal is about 3 months. You generally have to be at 12- 15 mg/week for it to be doing much good, in my opinion. (I'm currently on 17mg/week). Of course , for some it won't work, or for some, they will have side effects. That can be said for anything, of course. Mark
Guest guest
I tried Minocin and Doxy for years, never herxed, didn't really improve. Only improvement appeared due to diet. I've had to stop AP while on MTX but hope to get on another Antibiotic soon. -M- Re: rheumatic Methotrexate - how long to become effective Mike, I started the AP November 11, 1997. I've never known a rheumie to start someone on such a high dose. What's his comment about your situation? I would think if it was going to work, you would have noticed the difference by now.
