Guest guest
<I'm going to pick up a BS monitor this week with flex spending money. Any recommendations for what to pick up?> W-l M-rt has their own brand for about ten bucks. I think the monitor and a box of test strips cost me about thirty. --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Try it now. Guest guest
Val, I know high and low cortisol have some of the same symptoms. As we heal, how do we monitor ourselves to find out if we're going high? I've been reading this thread and some others. I know we should watch blood sugar, heart rate, and blood pressure, but don't know what to watch for in each. Thanks!! in Tulsa

Thanks!!<< Blood sugar over 99 in a fastign state that repeats, in other words do nto use a sample of one and make certain you are not ill whne you do this as illness elevates glucose. Pounding heart when oyu feel thyroid is opimal and not low can be from high cortisol. BP that goes from low to high indicates you have passed what you need. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Val, just curious, is what describes a thyroid dump or an overdose of HC? Can you clarify how the symptoms differ? As physiciams regularly hand out scriopts for 50mg Pred which equals 200MG HC it is VERY unlikely to be from an OD of hc. In fact it is impossible. What happened when he took extra HC was there was SOME thyroid built up in his blood that had not been able to enter the cells due to slightly low cortiosl. It does nto take much to create a small thyrodi dump. But when the thyroid sufddenly enters the cells several things happen. First there is a call to the adrenals for MORE CORTISOL to handle the increased metabolic load. Well they don;t have any more to give so they respond with ADRENALINE. UP goes Glucose, heart rate and BP, which if it goes suddenly high enough creates a HUGE headache. If ther is no glucose to nbe released form the liver, you will then experience the shakes and debilitating mental sympotms of hypoglycemia. NOT a good feeling at all! It is important to take both more HC and some FOOD at this point to lower the adrenalsine and then you will almost instantly feel better. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Thanks Val. So I guess when my BP was 170/100 and pulse 100, and severely hypoglycemic because I was severely hypo (only on 1/2 grain), I was running on adrenaline. My temps were never low though; does adrenaline elevate your temps too?
