Trace the first med they gave you I believe is " Toridal " (sp?), and it is a pain reliever. That is one of the first shots the PA in the Urgent Care gave me for my back when I was suffering so very badly, altho he did not give me nearly enough for my size (only a 16mg shot, and I am pre-op until Jan 7, 2003, hover around 280-300#), but the next day I went to my PCP's office to see the PA, and she gave me 30mg, plus cortizone.
