Guest guest
Ugh! Sorry to hear it . I had a dumping episode this am too. I started my vitamins today. I took them this morning. Chewed them up w/ my morning protein shake. I started feeling a bit nauseous. A while later I thought maybe if I had some yogurt that would help. Boy was I wrong!!! I had the same yogurt I've had the past week & it's never bothered me! I ate it & bam! It hit me hard! I had to go lay down. Thankfully mine didn't last but about 30 min or so. I will be spreading my vitamins out during the day from now on! That's the 2nd time I've felt that since surgery. The other time I accidentally had a couple of bites of regular yogurt instead of non/low-fat. 2 bites & the nausea hit me!! Did you have anything else w/ the salmon that might have caused it? Did you eat more of it than you did last night? Give it some time & try it again. I know you'll be gun-shy on it for a while! I am that way w/ chili. I got a case of the stomach flu last winter when it was going around. Well, the last thing I ate before I got sick was chili. I know the chili didn't make me sick because I wasn't the only one to eat it; but the only one who got sick. I still can't stand the thought of chili. LOL 380/344/160 wrote: > Oh my everyone! Guest guest
Hi Kim, I was looking at your surgery date and was really surprised that you were even trying to eat anything that soon. I thought that at least the first 4 weeks post op we were supposed to be on protein drinks and liquids, and then after that pureed foods for another couple weeks before even trying any kind of solids. I know different doctors will say different things, but I did think that on that they were pretty much on the same level. I hope you get to feeling better soon. I think I am going to stick with a liquid diet for awhile after my surgery. Two years ago I was on the ole slim fast diet and thats ALL I had for months, I was sick of it after awhile, but I think that by me doing that kind of diet, I am a bit more prepared to do a liquid diet for a bit. Also, I noticed how much weight you lost in only a couple of weeks, that is amazing, it must feel like it is falling off, I hope mine goes that fast. Take care and hope you get to feeling better, > > Oh my everyone! Guest guest
I'm doing the 2 flintstones...since that's what I have on hand for a multi-vit. I will probably order something different from vitalady or bariatric eating once these are gone. Then I also do a chewable calcium, iron & b12. I'm going to spread them out throughout the day & see if that helps. 380/343/160 wrote: > , > Wow we both got lucky then today!NOT!!! > > Um,lets see,I did add a little cheddar cheese shreds on top of the > salmon, but I had cheddar before & it didn't bother me.I sure am > gonna be gun shy eating that,LOL Will surely be awhile. > > What kind of vitamins are you on?I have the flintstone > chewables, twice a day. They are so sweet they give me the chills! > > Take care, > Kim > RNY 6/23/06 > 298/265/135 > > >
Guest guest
Like you said...each doctor is different. I'm on full liquids for 2 weeks & then on soft solids for 2 more weeks. I'm choosing to extend my liquids another few days before starting solids. I could have started solids Monday; but I'm waiting till the weekend. 380/343/160 wrote: > Hi Kim, > I was looking at your surgery date and was really surprised that you > were even trying to eat anything that soon. Guest guest
I'm laying off the samples I got from there. I think that's what might be causing my rash on my stomach. It's the only thing " new " that I can think that I've added since I got the rash. And the one day that the rash was better was a day I didn't have one of those shakes. I think it might be from the Protein Delight ones. I'm not drinking them for a day or two...going to go back to my other protein shakes & Isopure to see if the rash clears up. Not saying that to scare you! Don't take it that way! Different people are allergic to different things! I think that just might be what is bothering my rash tho! I hope not cause I really like their shakes! LOL 380/343/160 R.D. Abernathy wrote: > Hi , > > I was considering ordering them, but I think I will wait until my supply diminishes a bit more first. I just received today my sample protein shake pack and the new whey protein vials in blue raspberry and strawberry swirl. I can't wait to try them. I am looking forward to the White Chocolate Strawberry since so many of you mentioned how good it tasted. I am also looking forward to the Nectar brands. > > Thanks for the suggestions. Guest guest
Hi Yes,I am supposed to be on pureed - soft foods.I guess I just forgot myself thinking that salmon was soft enough but apparently not! Thats great that the slim fast experience will make this easier for you!I was just missing solid foods & chewing during the liquid stage, but I stuck to it. I'm glad the weight is dropping this fast.I lost 4 more pounds as of today!I really need to walk more, but PA has all this rain coming & it's hard to take my wild kids anywhere,LOL Thanks!
