Guest guest
Hello again everyone, Well...I have not been on here for a while, and I just wanted to check up on everyone, and tell you what is new with me....Well first and for most, I am writing to you with one more week to make it to my three month post op date. I have been thorugh a lot to get to this point, and I never ever thought I would make it through everything, but here I am...I have been back for my post op appointments on a regular basis, so far the news I have gotten is not good news..I have been working really really hard on stretching, and I have not made that much progress, I can fit two fingers comfortably between my two front teeth, I'm getting very frusterated...and I had a peice of gum growing out of my insition, so he cut it off, OUCH! and then he told me that if it grew back, that it might mean that I am having a bad reaction to the bone plate, and that could mean removing it in the future...! I don't know how much longer I can put up with all this, I am very pleased with the results of it, and I think it is well worth it, and I might do it again..lol...but after I get over this, you can ask me again...if i would do it again! I don't know what to say though...I still get the occational pain spots, my top gums are still numb, and when i brush them i get the feeling like when someone runs their finger nails across a chalk board...!!!!!!! But if you have any suggestions...or anything at all to say...please reply...i love hearing what you all have to say..thanks.~KATIE~
Guest guest
Hi ! Three months already for you? Wow, time is flying. I'm a bit over 3 months, too. I can only put two fingers in my mouth comfortably, as well. I don't think my surgeon is concentrating on that too much, since I have this other issue of relapse that we're addressing now. I get my 2nd opinion from a surgeon on 11/12, so I'm in limbo. But otherwise, at 3 months, I have great sensitivity in my lower gumline between two bottom teeth. I've had it for about 3 weeks and hoping it subsides soon. I'm hoping it's just the nerves waking up in a frenzy, since most of my gums are still numb. The roof of my mouth is slowwwlllly coming back to life, too. I was kinda hoping all this numbness would be gone by now, but it sure does take a lot of time. Gotta run! Good luck and hang in there.
