Hi JoJo,

I will praying for your eyes. Keep us updated. Take care and...

God Bless

Yolanda

Everyone is in my thoughts.

Firstly, Bonnie just wanted you to know that you and Don are in my thoughts

and prayers. You are one TROOPER for everything you have been through but I

am so afraid all this stress is going to take it's toll on you. Decisions

to be made changing one's lifestyle can sometimes seem like unsurmountable

hurdles but we have to do what is best for all. Hope things will continue

to get better in your situation.

Secondly, Dale I was so glad to read that things are improving for you and

hopefully each day you will regain that energy and 'sense of humor' that we

long for.

Thirdly, I am so glad all survived the Hurricanes.

Haven't been posting lately as I am having a great deal of trouble with my

eyes and am just waiting to get into a Specialist. The bright light makes

it so hard to even read the messages (even with sunglasses on) but I am

doing my darndest!!!

TAKE AWAY MY LEGS, TAKE AWAY MY SPEECH BUT I AM NOT WILLING TO GIVE UP MY

COMPUTER AND PLS-FRIENDS.

Just wanted you all to know you are in my thoughts.

Take care and will be back in 'full force' as soon as I get these PEEPER'S

straightened around. :-)

Jo.

JO,

The HSP list has a great lady named Sue Glidden who just had

cataract surgery on her one eye and she really came through it

well. Hope you can have something done soon so you can see again

and not miss any of the posts. You do miss it when you are not able

to read them!

Take care,

Sue Me

Jo, I am the one who Sue Me was speaking of (Sue thanks for calling me great). I

went blind in one eye over night. I too had seen some flashes of light ever now

and then but did not think anything of them. My flashes were seldom but I

sometimes did get blurred vision. The eye doctor told me before surgery that he

could not assure that I would get my sight back. I had a cataract that

splattered over my eye over night. It was big and very dense. Before I saw a

surgeon the eye doctor sent me to a retinal specialist. Even with all his modern

equipment and ultrasound he could not see if retina had any damage. He said that

he believed that my Rheumotoid Arthritis was attacking my eye. Well I had

surgery which takes about 15 minutes and I even refused the relaxing drugs that

they use. I have a fear of being put out. Well if you end up needing this

implant surgery, it is a piece of cake and I now have 20/20 vision in that eye.

I wish you suscess with your eye problem. I was two months with

vision in one eye and I know how you are feeling. But with modern medicine

today, I think you will come out just fine. Just wish with this modern medicine

they could fine a cure for our diseases. Hugs and good eyesight to you. Sue G.

Thanks Sue Me:

Just found out my appointment isn't with the Specialist until November 4th.

Am going to phone them back this afternoon to see if there is something I

can use in the meantime. There is always such a waiting list for everything

these days - my big concern is I had my spleen removed several years ago so

it is harder to fight off infection.

Will keep you posted.

Take care.

Jo.

Thanks for the note Sue. I think mine is more an issue of severely dry eyes

along with a chronic eye infection that I have had in my left eye. Had my

spleen removed several years ago so therefore it is harder to fight off

infection. My specialist appt. isn't until the beginning of November but I

am going to phone them back this afternoon to see if he has any

recommendations to get me through to that appointment.

Hopefully there will soon be a cure for PLS, HSP and ALS.

Thanks again and take care.

Jo, I hope you can get in soon. I had a long wait also. The eye retinal

specialist gave me a sample of Bion Tears for dry eyes. I do not think that they

would help with infection but might give you some relief from the dry eyes. I

think you can get them or something like them at any drug store. Just a

suggestion that might help. Sue G

Dear Jo,

Sorry about your eyes. You are in my prayers. It is hard to get in to see a

Specialist but if it gets any worse call the doctor again. They have times set

up for emergencies.

Take care of yourself!!!
