I didn't much about anything before I went on the Pred, except that I

had an adrenal crash on T4 only meds, was bedridden, and needed

strong adrenal support. HC just didn't cut it - too many highs and

too many lows for me to regulate blood sugar, sleep and function with

3 young children.

I am convinced that a lot of my problems are due to the Gilberts

syndrome, which is elevated bilirubin with otherwise normal liver

enzymes. The doctors would have us believe that it is entirely

benign, but it isn't and this website explains the symptoms fully.

www.gilbertssyndrome.com

Insulin resistance and carbohydrate handling problems are inherent in

this condition - so I already had this before I started the Pred. I

have been on Pred for a good 18 months, and it is only just recently

that my blood sugar became high - I don't know why. But I really

don't want diabetes, so I am trying to treat the insulin resistance

with the chromium, magnesium, etc etc, and have reduced and

rearranged my pred dosage so I don't get so much in one go. I am

hoping to keep the lid on this thing...
