Guest guest
Congratulations, go eat a caramel apple before the retainers go on! So did the ortho have any trouble removing the ceramics without damaging your tooth enamel? > With all due respect, I shall quote Dr. King: > > " Free at last! God Almighty! I am free at last! Guest guest
Cammie, congratulations on being free!!!!!!!!!!! Tell me how does it feel, the whole experience of getting them removed. Does it feel strange to have teeth again? I think I dread that most. Ha-ha. Regards and enjoy food and your smile too, Kat_Uk Re: Free at last! Guest guest
Well, I think my ortho and his assistant had matching jackhammers to break up the concrete. First he removed the three bands. Warning, " Sometimes a crown will come off with the band. " They did not. Then he clipped off each bracket, and turned the procedure over to his assistant, who scraped and scaled and burnished and polished. He left the one tooth that had all the glop where he'd bonded the wire directly to the tooth, and fixed that himself, using a high-speed burnisher or drill or something. then she polished a bit more, and I went off for photos (I should have had a haircut) and molds, from which to make the retainers. And that was it! Whooppeee!! They feel smooth, and slick, and nothing catches anywhere (I do actually still have one bracket, the one that was soldered to a metal crown just for this work.) Almost. The front teeth feel very prominent, somehow; perhaps this is the first result I've felt of the surgical advancement. But it is nice not to have to worry about breaking something or bending something. I'm still a bit sensitive, and the teeth are loose, but he tells me that will settle out in the next six months or so, when I will surrender my acrylic retainers I get Thursday for wire replacements. You'll get there too, Kat, and soon, I hope! You've been at it a lot longer than I (but if you add in my first time around, I'm about at the same distance you are. I just took a 40-year recess!) Guest guest
Believe it or not, I thought about you while they were taking them off. And while I ate my boss's tootsie roll. Do they have Tootsie Rolls in Spain. They are a sort of choclit caramel, that stick and stick and stick if you bite into them. I was not that brave, but I loved the taste. Hope you will be there soon, my friend. Cammie > Yes! I'm very happy for you Cammie! > > Be sure to have an extra ration of popcorn for me and, as your ortho > said...
