Guest guest
I was recently diagnosed with SA and Sjogrens. For the past ten tears, have had back problems and surgery for it (decompression for stenosis and laminectomies). The last 2 years, I wake up so stiff in the morning I can hardly move. I am in pain from the neck down except for the smaller joints. Have tried many, many non steroids that haven't helped. Have been on pred for a month, then will see rheumie for tests. The pred has taken away most of the pain (15 mg per day). Assuming that I am a " text book " or ALMOST text book SA patient, what kind of drugs might I be put on? I am a 53 year old female in good heath, otherwise. I have studied SA, and the symptoms fit almost perfectly. I am in so much pain it has taken my quality of life away. The pain and stifness is getting worse and worse. What drugs do you think she might put me on? Why did she run a hepatitis test on me? Guest guest
Hi I do not know if I qualify foas an expert but I will give my 2 cents. I know that what they may use may not be something you want in the longrun. They use these new biologics for just about everything! They are costly and have many side effects that really happen. Methotrexate also is widely used and is a chemo drug. I know I would try Minocin the brand. It is something you will need to read up on( rheumatic.org has case histories. You will want to go to rxlist.com and check out all the different drugs and side effects as many times all was not told to me and I wish it had been. I had sjogrens and I can say that alone has restored my quality of life. Being able to see again, read, smell a dinner, taste again., have saliva and not choke, not have only soft food..its endless. Because the vision is not blurry,I can druve again,. Then I have RA and Lupus too with great results there too! give a look..what an amazing drug! Adding the need of water from martial arts, running AND creatine -- well I might as well glue my lips to a faucet. > better shape and not so wrecked after kickboxing? You can too count it as weights -- maybe not BFL weights but I'm sure will agree with me that as you get better at kickboxing, you get stronger. Neither of the 2 UFC champions who own my Martial arts gym do much weights -- one of them does weights 1-2 a week and he does high reps for endurance and that is -it- everything else is cardio and stretching for these guys. You have to ask yourself what your goals are. Some of us have left BFL and entered a whole new world of fitness. and I (and someone else but I forget who?) do Mixed Martil Arts. I also run and do interval training outside and plyometrics -- none of which I personally think BFL trains you for. Bottom line is, there is nothing wrong with not doing " BFL " to the letter if you want to include other activities in your schedule. I had a push/pull routine I did when I first started martial Arts and Skwigg/ helped me figure the routine out -- I believe it is still in the files section if you want to check it out. Guest guest
You can get glutamine at just about any drugstore, health food store, or supplement store. I've even seen it at my grocery store. I usually order it online though. Here's the kind I use when I'm not taking it in Betagen: http://www24.netrition.com/prolab_glutamine_page.html I take 1 teaspoon (4-5g) of the powder stirred into a glass of water post-workout. Here's some more info on what glutamine is and what it does. http://www.supplementwatch.com/supatoz/supplement.asp?supplementId=150 On Tue, 14 Dec 2004 16:01:58 -0000, wee272 <juliet272@...> wrote: > > > where do you purchase your glutamine and how much do you take and > when?? > THANKS!! >
