Sounds familiar. My PCP sent me to a pain specialist. After an MRI and a

couple of visits, he told me there really isn't anything he can do to help

my pain. He is basically a spine specialist. If I had something

structurally wrong with my bad (vertebrae or disk) then he could help me.

As we all know, there is no cure for fibro and trying to get adequate

management is extremely difficult. So the quest goes on.

It is so funny that you should put it that way Debra. When I was

first diagnosed at the Pain Center, the head doctor told me that they

were going to get me out of pain. Since that visit, I have been seen

by a physician's assistant who adjusts my medication after getting an

okay from the head doctor.

Last month when I went there, I said to the physician's

assistant, " The pain center doctor is not going to be able to get me

out of pain is he? " She said, " Regrettably, no. "

I was expecting that answer since I have been going there since March

and I have been in this group about that long. My pain level has not

yet changed. I have been in one long flare.

Thankfully, it is not that way for everyone.

Love,

Annie

lets up temporarily. That doctor just did not want to admit he can't

make you just about cured. I have found that everything is a

temporary fix for this illness.
