Guest guest
I put Bentonite clay on my skin when I had my bad hives. I do recommend a Vitamin C flush though. how many days have you been suffering from the hives now? Usually they will clear up on your own if you flush out the offending toxin. Cheri Re: Allergic Reactions Thank you everyone for your help. The antihistamines wore off about an hour ago and I am sitting here crying. I can't take anymore until 6 a.m....4 hrs to go. This is the worst thing I have ever encountered. My entire body is swollen and red and itching...there is not one area not affected now. My husband wants me to goto the emergency room...but I really don't want them touching me. I think I have Zantac and will try that. Never would have occured to me, since I have it in my medicine chest for reflux. I'm sorry I don't know what the other thing is...bentonite . Guest guest
In the past doctor has told me to ask pharmacist for Lavendar Oil. Back in the old days....he mixed it. -- Re: Allergic Reactions IF the cream and 4 hour dosing of Chlorpheniramine don't fix it, Consider adding 150 mg Zantac am and pm. Per the Postgraduate Medicine link I sent you earlier. Sometimes it takes both H1 and H2 histamine blockers to get a good response. If nothing else, sometimes putting an ice pack on the worst areas helps. Or a long cold shower. NO heat (for me) though some people have said that taking a long very hot shower can cause more histamine release in the skin, and thus speed up the course of the reaction. But it won't be comfortable!!! ly I never had the guts to try it. When I had huge hives all over my face, at the doctor I got seen immediately. They did NOT want me sitting in the waiting room scaring the other patients! sol ..
Guest guest
I can second that! It feels like your whole body is on fire, burning and itching at the same time. Scratching feels SOOO good, but then, oh dear, now I'm bleeding. And then there was the time I went into anaphylactic shock from sulfa drugs. Puffed up like a balloon, went to the ER, was given more antihistamines and deflated overnight. The next day I felt like I'd been run over by a truck. No, allergies are no laughing matter, and you have our complete sympathy. When your brain can think again (over the itching), you really need to recount your days, hour by hour, over the last few days. If it was the orange soda, then there had to be additional Yellow 5 you ingested previous to or since that one soda. You need to read the label of everything you ate, and the hard part is recalling foods you ate outside of your home. But something is triggering you and if you don't figure it out, it will probably happen again. It could also be something else. Sulfites are another biggie, found in dried apricots, wines, balsamic vinegar, tortillas, etc. Good luck! Barb sol wrote: > I don't think you are a baby. Guest guest
You might also consider having coffee enema or master cleanse which is decribed below, `In order to establish beneficial intestinal flora it is preferable to eliminate most of the harmful bacteria and fungi beforehand. I recommend taking garlic with Epsom salts, or in an isotonic salt solution, to flush the whole length of the intestinal tract. Water with the same salt concentration as blood is called isotonic, and is not normally absorbed but passes through the whole of the intestinal tract. An isotonic solution has a salt content of about 0.9 %, or approximately 1 heaped teaspoonful to 1 liter of water. Mix this with a medium to large clove of finely crushed garlic. Unpleasant symptoms due to so-called die-off of Candida will be minimized with this flush, as the dead microbes are washed out of the body. If, for some reason, the flush does not come out at the other end within a few hours, and you start feeling uncomfortable, then take immediately a tablespoon of Epsom salt. However, if you had already breakfast then it is better to try an enema.` bw Nil Re: Allergic Reactions Thank you everyone for your help. Guest guest
My dr. sent me magnesium citrate 'lemonade' to drink as a laxative.....he says to flush out the allergens that are still in my intestinal tract. I'm NEVER constipated....but I took it anyway. At this point I would hang from a bridge naked if I thought it would help. Thanks for the help...but I don't have it in me to do an enema now. Maybe some other day??? Naffy > > > > > I don't think you are a baby. Once when starting Armour I did itch but it went away on its own within a few hours, and their were no welts. This is gross...and now spreading to my neck and lower scalp area. I'm looking like a freak! And the itching!!! OMG the itching!! Funny you should mention elastic, because the first breakout on Christmas evening was right along the panty line. Am waiting for my next chlorotrimtron and then will be spreading some HC on the worst areas. Do you think its okay to take the 20 mg now...at night?? Subtracting of course what i put on in cream. Guest guest
Hi Cheri..thnak you for your concern.....the hives started the 25th late at night...hardly nothing in comparison to now, but I took a Zyrtec and it sort of cleared up the next day. But then that evening (26th) all hell broke lose, and my whole body was covered. I took another Zyrtec and it helped somewhat but new breakouts were popping out all over. Then yesterday morn I had my hubbie run to the drugstore and get me chlortrimeton but he brought me 4 mg tablets (later that night the doc said 4 mg was for children and upped to 8 mg). I think a BIG mistake I made was to take a hot bath yesterday with baking soda. I don't know why my body wanted that, I guess to numb the pain, since I used to do very hot baths for backache. Anyway it was about an hour after the bath that I got really bad. Started crying from the desperation of the itch and just seeing my body like that. Later I read on the list that heat can make the reaction worse.....I had no idea. Like I've mentioned, I'm very ignorant in skin issues since I've never had one (am 55). Last night I took the chlorotrimeton/zyrtec and a zantac (per sol's suggestion) and of course, the 'laxative' the dr. sent me. I went all night so if there were toxins in the intestines they should be gone now. This morning I am groggy...to be expected....still have bright red breakouts and itching, but the old ones seem to be clearing up. My heart goes out to anyone who suffers with this regularly. I have had several surgeries in my life, and beleive me when I say THIS HAS BEEN WORSE than surgery recovery for me. It is a totally desperate situation to itch all over....a horrible kind of pain, and I really did not handle it well at all. Have cried all night...which probably isn't helping my adrenals at all. Thank you to so many who answered and were concerned. I did sit at the comp last night and see the posts but could not answer. Just sitting in a chair would activate the ones on my buttocks!! I'll keep everyone posted ...and thanks again, Naffy > > I put Bentonite clay on my skin when I had my bad hives. Guest guest
Hi Christi...my doc asked me (by phone) if I had a fever or sore throat and I didn't so he assumed it wasn't viral. Guest guest
Cheri I forgot....I wanted to do the Vit C flush and had my hubbie help me search the cabinets last night for one that wasn't ascorbic acid. ALL of the ones in our house are ascorbic acid so I didn't dare. What are the other kinds of Vit C I can take, and how much and for how long? To bowel tolerance? How will I know if I have the eternal runs from the magnesium laxative from last night? Guest guest
Vitamin C IS ascorbic acid. You can buffer it with baking soda to make sodium ascorbate, or it can be buffered with calcium to make calcium ascorbate (ester C). But whether naturally occuring in orange juice or manufactured, the chemical that is vit C is ascorbic acid. sol nafoel wrote: > Cheri I forgot....I wanted to do the Vit C flush and had my hubbie > help me search the cabinets last night for one that wasn't ascorbic > acid. It is from http://reactor-core.org/dental-health.html (I do not necessarily endorse all the rest of the article, and I have seen the formula for sodium ascorbate elsewhere, but this is the only source of the recipe I can remember, LOL) For dental health I much prefer the information of Dr. O.
