Guest guest
YAY!!! You made it a week!!! :-) I have to take an antacid once a day at night before bed. But, I'm allowed to swallow it. The zantac is bitter. My daughter hated having to take it that way! Could you maybe mix it in a protein drink? I've got to work on getting my liquids. I have to take little sips or like you I get bloated. Feels like an airbubble is stuck & it hurts!!! Then I burp & all is well. LOL! My incisions look the same. And today they started itching!!! Guess that's a good sign. :-) Get you a scale! :-) I bought one at wal-mart fairly cheap. It's digital. :-) Gonna try to contain myself & only weigh once a week. wrote: > It has been a week already since surgery. I have noticed already > that my face is thinning out a bit. Guest guest
Just for info, I was also sent home with the zantac after surgery, but i was just able to take the pills like normal. I didnt have to crush them or anything, if you were told to crush them you might be able to just take them now. But please ask your doctor first..... Guest guest
I have an antacid that I'm to take once a day at bedtime. I just swallow the pill also. Ask your doctor . Maybe they'll let you swallow it now. Mike Tune wrote: > Just for info, I was also sent home with the zantac after surgery, but i was > just able to take the pills like normal. Guest guest
Yea, I know. I'm not big on self-control. I'm sure I'll be on the scale every morning!! That's what I did on the pre-op diet!!! I think mine was the weight watcher's one too. I can't remember. Shauna Thalman wrote: > hahaha Good luck on weighing 1x a week.. once the weight starts coming off you will weigh more then 1x a week. Guest guest
It just amazes me to see the differences between doctors & their post op regimes for patients. It seems like it would be more similar. As long as we all lose I don't guess it matters!!! I'm really trying to up my water. My swollen ankles are killin me!! My strips are peeling of as well. I lost the one in my belly button today. The others are coming off slowly but surely. REALLY itchy today!!! wrote: > Thanks . > > Those zantac are killers.I'm not allowed to have protein shakes > yet.Maybe after next week.I'm going to ask if they can change me to > something else since it is so bad. > > Will have to look atWalmart.Going there to day to add more variety > to my liquids ) > > > My incisions started itching some yesterday too.My strips are > starting to peel loose as well. > > Keep sipping & walking! > > > > Post op 1 wk > 298/277/XXX/135 > > >

Guest guest
I don't have staples or a drain tube!! Whooopie! I was so worried about that stupid drain tube. I was dreading having it removed. When I woke up & didn't feel one I was so excited! LOL I have stitches instead of staples. The doctor said they would either absorb into my body or just fall out. *WHEW* Wild Child wrote: > mine came off early as well. Did you have your stapples removed yet? Guest guest
Wow...your a lucky one. I went home with stapples and a drainage tube. The drainage tube hurt like hell coming out. Guest guest
I didn't have staples, but I had the drain tube. It was very uncomfortable in and when it was being taken out. I am happy for you on that aspect. Hye wrote: I don't have staples or a drain tube!! Whooopie! I was so worried about that stupid drain tube. I was dreading having it removed. Guest guest
SOunds like you are doing great. I had the same thing with my stomach being bloated, it was like being prego. But that didn't last long. Congrats, you are on your way! Stacey > > It has been a week already since surgery. I have noticed already > that my face is thinning out a bit. Guest guest
I have decided to stay away from the scale for a couple of days. It can be frustrating during times of up and down due to water retaining. Wild Child wrote: The scale is addicting but it helps keep me on track. I get on the scale several times a day.. Guest guest
Hi Kim, Congratulations on the 1 wk sucess. I am glad you are getting all of your water in. I am also glad to hear you are noticing a difference. I too saw it in my face in the first week. Congratulations, isn't it exciting!! My scars are lightening as time goes on. My face did not break out so i am unsure about that. Keep up the GREA T!! work! I can't wait to hear how much you have lost. Best Wishes, Shauna wrote: It has been a week already since surgery. I have been getting all my liquids,64 oz & more - even though I have been whining about them. Thanks for bearing w/me. I usually cry (tears) every moring because I hate taking the crushed zantac. It is soo bitter & no matter how much jello I try to hide it in the bitter comes thru & my 1st instinct is to chug some water so I end up getting gassy.Have to do this 2X's a day. I have noticed my face is breaking out alot.I am guessing it is because my body is washing out all its impurities & this is an outlet for some? Anyone have any say about this? I've noticed on some of my punctures they look really thick with blood.Do they leave large scars?I know everyone is different,I mean in general? We went Goodwill shopping tonight & I noticed I could walk & stand longer than before the surgery.I used to be short of breath & have severe lower back pain. That is a great step forward for me. Guest guest
Thanks Shauna It's nice to see some prize from the agony of liquid,LOL Last week really my face was having a break out more than usual. This week seems to be calmed down a bit. Still need to get to walmart for the scale. We ended up going to Giant Eagle to add more soup to the rest of the week. Had French onion strained last night & it stayed down quite nicely. 1 wk Post op Higest 298 Pre Surgery 277 Current ??? Goal 135 > It has been a week already since surgery.
