Guest guest
Hi Bridge! Welcome to the group and nice to meet you. First, I want to say CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! on becoming a loser here in Loserville. We are looking forward to sharing your WLS journey with you. We have many here who are at all different stages who have had either the RNY or Lapband. Everyone here is great! Yes, it was head hunger for me. You are used to eating more at this point and old habits want to kick in. This will pass, the first couple of weeks seemed to be the hardest from my experience. After that, everything was fine. SOO! Worth it. My body was going through so many changes and didn't know what to do. I too had the RNY proceedure. Very happy I did. I lost 20 lbs my first week and 10 my second week because it was a liquid diet and it was new. Not everyone loses the same. Some have lost 10 their first week, it varies from person to person. I hope this helps. Please let us know what else we can do to help. Remember, this is all of what you will make of it. This is a wonderful tool and a chance at a second life for many of us. Best Wishes, Shauna 343/83/260 Surgery: 1-19-06 Pittsburgh, Pa. kikib1075 wrote: Hey everyone, I am a newbie to Gastric bypass and online support groups so please bear with me. I just had my GB on June 27th ( 3 1/2 days ago) I feel pretty good but I have so many questions? I live in a very rural area and there are no support groups near me. I am looking forward to using this a a tool in my new life and hopefully I will meet some new friends who understand what I am going through. My husband is having a hard time with all of this. Is it normal to think I'm hungry while on the clear liquids, will that change? I had the Rouen Y procedure, is anyone familiar with that? How soon will I start losing weight? Looking forward to hearing from anyone. Thanks Bridge --------------------------------- How low will we go? Check out Yahoo! Guest guest
Welcome Bridge & congrats on your surgery! I had my surgery on June 23 so I am still in the liquid stage as well. It is driving me batty! I have to cook for my kids & they are constantly " Mom I'm hungry! " So I feel like i'm starving because I smell & see the food constantly. I was told though we are not really hungry because our pouch is so small and always full.it is just in our head.An old habit we are used to living. Hope that helps you & Good luck! 1 wk Post op 298/277/???/135 > > Hey everyone, > I am a newbie to Gastric bypass and online support groups so please > bear with me. Guest guest
Thanks for the encouragement, I got to start yougurt today and It made me sick. I guess I'll wait again before trying that. I had my gallbladder out at the same time, I wonder if that is why I'm feeling so gassy? Are you sick of water yet? I'm trying to stay positive, and look at the long term goal. Guest guest
Wow, that's ruff........If you went to rehab for alcohol would he bring a six pack when he came to visit? Of course not, people don't get it sometimes. I'm sorry you had to sit through that. Stay strong, it will be worth all the hard work! Guest guest
He doesn't understand that you made this choice so that you could be healthier and be around longer for him & your child! He needs to understand that too!!! That was very mean of him to have McD's & candy in your room. My fiance would leave the room if I asked him to when I was on my pre-op diet & he wanted to eat. But, it never bothered me. I hope your hubby comes around. :-) The support will make all the difference in the world!! I don't know what I've lost so far. I haven't been on a scale since the day before surgery. kikib1075 wrote: > hey lisa, > My husband feels like I made this life changing choice without thinking > of how it would effect him and oour child. Guest guest
Hi Bridge, this is Nina and I had my surgery on 10-11-05 in San , TX to date I have lost 134lbs. I just wanted to put my 2 cents in if I may. My husband did the same thing to me and I had to lay into him. He just didn’t realize what he was doing to me. The thing that gets me most is the birthday cake, he makes me cut it and get them pieces of the cake. I make a face and then he realizes what he is doing and then gets up from the couch or table and does it himself. Now the food I bring it in for them. I haven’t really craved the sweets since surgery; sometimes its ice cream and then I’ll get a scoop of something sf and that will do me until the next time I crave something. The food wise doesn’t really bother me, cuz I will get Mcs and just eat the cheese burger no bun and it does me, and I only eat about a 1/3 of it to a ½ depending on if I am really hungry. Welcome to the losing side. Guest guest
Congratulations on losing 2 1/2 lbs. That is a great. Thats 2 1/2 lbs you no longer have to worry about. It does seem more enjoying when you have the full support needed. I would just communicate how much it hurts you mentally and physically and ask him if it is necessary for him to do it, to please respect you and do it elsewhere. All you can do is ask and then keep moving on for yourself. After all, this is your time for you to get yourself better for you formost. keep your eye on the prize, you will be so glad that you did. Especially if you end up sitting in a hospital room with your husband when HE may be the one who is having high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesteral. You will know that you faught it and won. kikib1075 wrote: hey lisa, My husband feels like I made this life changing choice without thinking of how it would effect him and oour child. Guest guest
I don't know about the gall bladder or how it affects us to have or not have it,but I know I was drinking too fast & got very gassy. I AM very tired of all the sweetened drinks.I would prefer to have regular water or unsweetened decaf tea instead. I have not been cleared to try yogurt yet,so I haven't. Yes Iam trying to think more positively that this liquid is healing me to move to the next stage of yummy foods to help me lose weight,LOL Although everyone here can tell you how I hav ebeen complaining about it!LOL Take care! > > Thanks for the encouragement, I got to start yougurt today and > It made me sick. Guest guest
I know how you feel Bridgett.Although my husband is afraid to eat at all in front of me so he doesn't eat! He does however keep drinking beer everynight even though he knows I used to enjoy it & can't have it!
