Hi , Thanks for your message. I just went on cholesterol meds. I'm the first to admit I did not want to go on them, but I know it is the best for me. Even with the way I eat, the amount of exercise I do, my cholesterol was creeping up. I'm hoping that I don't have to stay on it the rest of my life, but I thank God that it is available. hugs Eunice

As I'm watching the election results right now, I don't have time to go through his information, but I recall that he thinks the 200s are healthy for older people. I seem to recall that he says 250-275 is okay. He's concerned about homocysteine levels. My personal doctor didn't even seem to know what that test was several years ago when I started asking for one. He finally caught on and I had the test and was pleased with my results. I think people should ask their doctors for a homocysteine test. And definitely get that test prior to going on meds. Amber

Guest guest
Amber, I have to say that sounds a little strange to me, as I thought cholesterol levels are supposed to go down, not up, as we age. If you've only heard this from one source such as a doctor on the web, I hope you'll check further. I do feel interested in the homocysteine test, though. What does it mean?
