Guest guest
Normal Aldolase level is 1-7. Mine is 92.7 and I have a muscular disorder. Another place of concentrated aldolase is the liver, and liver disorders are another possibility. Is it possible her aldolase is coming from the muscle and that's what the growing pains are? Was her CK checked as well?
Guest guest
CK is creatine kinase, it is an enzyme found in muscle cells (including the heart). Elevated levels indicate muscle damage- which is why they measure it after heart attacks, high levels indicate damage to the larger skeletal muscle. It's fairly simple to tell where the aldolase is coming from- increases in other liver enzymes like ALT, AST, Bilirubin, Alkaline Phosphate would indicate it's coming from the liver, while an increased CK would indicate muscle. I have no idea though if only the aldolase is elevated what that would indicate.
Guest guest
What is CK? How do you know where the aldolase is coming from, i.e. her muscles or her liver? Guest guest
Her CK was normal, .4, I believe. The doctor called this morning and said that it's so slightly elevated that it's probably an error in the testing. Her reading was 8.7 and normal is 1-7. Not sure what to make of it anymore.
