Guest guest
> I was on all those supplements except DMAE (what's that?) plus scads of others. Had to stop taking them all due to severe acid indigestion & hiatal hernia I developed. So am taking only what I can digest now & that's all. So far only E, B-complex w/C & that's about it & not all at the same time. > > Changed my diet too to mostly alkaline...had to in order to get the aciidity under control. So we'll see how it goes & what I can add again later. So far so good tho...am doing much better today than yesterday when I was miserable with the stomach problems. Could have an ulcer too. Don't know yet. Got to ask my doc & get tests when I see her again in a couple of weeks. Good luck & continued feeling better to you too. > Caroline > ----- Original Message ----- Caroline; I found out about DMAE from Dr. Perricone's books (not to do w/ thyroid, they are about anti-aging and reducing things that cause inflamation in the body). From what I understand about it, DMAE are specific nutrients that are found in fish oil that promote good health and anti aging benefits. I take supplements that combine DMAE with various E's , C's , and lipoeic acid. Essentially, it's good for the skin and hair; but also has other health benefits. I will pray for you. I hope that things turn around for you. I know how maddening and depressing all of this can be. In fact, the biggest reason I waited until increasing my own dose was because I was trying to figure out how to get the nerve to tell my doctor what I did . I decided not to say anything unless my bloodwork shows up out of whack. Then I'll just say, " Oh, my blonde must be showing;...I misread the dosage " or something. Although I did order armour online (from rxforless, so who knows if it will ever get here?) It's a lot more expensive to do it w/o a prescription. It only cost me 11 dollars for a 90 day prescription when my doc prescribed it. Sigh. Sim
Guest guest
Hi Sim, I saw DMAE mentioned in one of my books since reading your wrote about it here. I didin't know it was in fish oils but I can't take those because of mercury toxcicity problems. There's mercury in the fish oils I discovered. I have some I bought too but can't take them now. So that's out for me. Tee hee...I went thru the same thing with not wanting to tell my doctor I had increased my dose way beyond the measly 15mg she prescribed for me. So when she called to tell me the results of my T4 & TSH blood tests, of course she noticed the TSH must be hyperT & said I'm on too much Armour, thinking all I was taking was the puny 15mg she prescribed. Then I had to tell her the TSH showed that because of the greater amount of Armour I'm taking. She said I wasn't supposed to increase it without telling her. So I just jabbered on & said I didn't want to be dosing according to TSH tests but for symptoms. And that I wanted more tests for other things I learned I needed on this egroup which I then named & she agreed to order them for me. So that's where we're at now. I'm to get the blood draw on the 29th, Monday, because I have to stop eating all predatory fish for several days before the blood draw cuz one of the tests is for mercury toxicity which is in fish. I also ordered Armour from myrxforless. That's what I was updosing on whie also taking the generic Armour she prescribed. Yes it's more expensive to order it ourselves but worth it I think. Now if my doctor wants to go along with the doses I'm upgrading to as I go along here, then fine, I'd love that as my insurance pays for most of it. Otherwise I'll just have to keep ordering it separately. Thanx fot he prayer, I can use them. I will light a prayer candle for your success too.
