HI ML!

Readin back on some postS which i have 2,000 or more so I can research

back, I came across this post which makes me wonder.HOW are u? Did u continue

the meds or were they too costly? Are u even in this group anymore? My next step

is too look into what the healthy Maine prescription progrm will kick in for

meds to start me on therapy. When I went for my blood work last mth rhuemie said

time for methotrexate shots to control the ulcers lesions on my head ,ears

,mouth, feet, hands, arms & chest area so hubby an i said not yet! We are lookin

into another form of treatment. So we left it at that to go back end of this

mth. He will write what I need he said it.They think I know more then they do

about my dosage at this point.I upped to 19 mg from the 17(prednsione) I had low

dosed to last week an the lesions are ever so slowwwwllyyy fading.O.k so bad

verus good.I will clear this up by the time the 31st comes when i see a

completly new doc. He treats Lupus auto immune symptoms. Not looking forward to

going over 17 yrs of my history with him AT ALL>More blood work I can see that

coming.BUT I figure good time to bring the protocol that I printed give him copy

to keep. Maybe he already knows of it.I can only pray.Wish me luck.I wish u good

health. Please reply ML when u can. from Maine*

rheumatic terrible news

Hello everyone,

Since my insurance went up to a $50 co-pay for the Doryx, I have made

the painful decision to stop the AP. It's been a little over 7

months with no improvement except for my bowels. I just can't afford

it right now...my son has many medications he takes and I just can't

justify it. Maybe I am not bad enough to keep going--I don't know

how I will justify it when the pains come again, but I really don't

feel I have a choice.

I've decided to try the olive leaf extract in place of the AP. It is

affordable. Does anyone have recommendations on dosage or maybe

another suggestion?

Thanks,

ML

Hi to all:

I am not sure who I am writing to. This rheumatic group shows up many times

on Martha's emails so I wanted to send you a note to let you know what has

happened.

First, my name is and I am her oldest daughter. She was a valiant

fighter in the war against Rheumatoid and she took great pleasure in these

posts and the various chat rooms she visited. She wanted to much to help find

a

cure for this terrible illness.

This past Wednesday, she suffered a severe heart attack. The Doctors did

everything they could for her, but the end result is extensive brain damage due

to lack of oxygen. She is in Critical Care right now. A deep coma without

any responses. They have done 2 brain scans since the attack but no

improvement has been found. They let us know the reality of the situation

yesterday

is that she will never be able to come back to us in any reasonable quality

of life. We can make the decision to keep her on life support and she can

stay that way until infection or something else takes her from us.

Martha had a Living Will and was adamant about how she wanted to handle

things if this should ever come about. We will honor her wishes. By law, they

must do one more scan of her brain (72 hours later) but then we will make the

decision to remove her life support. No arrangements have been made past

that point. Please call the shop mid-week to find out more funeral

arrangements

as I may not be able to remember who I need to contact again.

We are all grieving deeply because she was the center of our family. She

influenced so many lives, especially those of her daughters and grandchildren.

Please keep us all in your prayers. There is now a huge aching hole in all

of our hearts that needs healing.

God Bless,

Minneci McVay

Please accept my heartfelt condolences for what has happened. I do not know

Martha well, but she has always been such a positive, strong and helpful person

to the rheumatic group. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Sincerely,

, thanks for letting us know so we don't wonder. Martha was an

asset to this group giving many RA patients hope that they too can get

well. Just 2 weeks ago she was posting. It's all unbelievable. I know

many people here will miss her. I wish you and your family the best

during this difficult time. Please come back and let us know if there

is anything we can do.

Wasn't there a little hope though? Martha's daughter said that they have to so

another brain scan in 48 hours which was yesterday. Miracles have happened and

doctors have been wrong many times. I am just wondering if there has been a

positive change at all.....

It will

I am so very sorry . Martha has been posting in our group for

many years now. Her messages were always insightful and well thought

out. She helped so many people here and she will be very much missed.

There is nothing I can say to help your grief but I am thinking of you.

Chris.
