No insult intended at all because I too am what MM refers to as a Giant Economy Sized Woman. I have huge calves and the circumference around my knees is almost too big to measure. Elephants can have MRIs. Bigger table, but the density of the tissue is NOT a problem. Guess what? I've had several MRI and CT scans. Give me a break- - You would NOT want to be in the same room with me if I were to ever hear that statement come out of a Technician's or Doctor's mouth. Have you had your knee scoped? I had one of mine repaired that way, even had a small piece of bone removed. Worked out fine for me. Hugs - a been to the doctors. Hey guys, went to the orthopedic doc and he says I do have a problem with my knee and that he wants a MRI. Now everyone has told me that I'm too big for a MRI.. Wonder why, He does not have a problem with my weight...HMMMM well I go Friday after noon for the MRI. Talk to you later... It looked like crab meat in there.. and he said he cleaned it out.. It's just that when the big time pain meds wore off and I ran out vicodone, the pain came back and has been worse. and he is the one that said the fat on my legs is to thick to cut through to remove my knee caps and The the surgery would be a waste because of my weight.. and then He tells me that I'm leaving and You will have to be refered to another doctor in this office. I thought to my self.. When the devil puts on ice skates. and then the next one hurt my feelings, Ralph and I came out so bad it was unreal. He told me that I can't do anything your to fat. and When you loose some weight come back and I will see what I can do for you. and walked out.. I was so mad. I went off on the nurses and told them that it would be a cold day in hell when I came back to him or any other doctor in this office. and when Dr. Pate said something about sending me back to him I told her only if she was going to bail me out of jail. Because I will go up side his head. So she sent me to Dr. in Charlotte. and he is the doctor for the Panthers, and the new basketball team and the Checkers hockey team... and He was the doctor for the American Olympic Team in Sydney. He has no problem with my weight. He told me he wants to stop the pain so that I can walk and loose the weight. I need to do that so that I don't end up having knee replacement. Ralph said, no wonder he did not say anything about your weight... He deals with big guys all the time. We are so excited. I'm glad to finaly have a doctor that will listen to me and try to stop the pain. love ya Carol been to the doctors. Took me 5 yrs. just to find a PCP to send me to a dermotologist over my lesions. You got lucky finding this Dr. Hope he keeps being the dream.
