New surgery seeks to reduce recovery timeA new, less invasive hip replacement procedure shortens post-surgery recovery time. With this new technique, the surgeon makes two much smaller incisions (1.5 to 3.5 inches) in the front and back of the hip as opposed to the traditional 10- to 12-inch incisions along the hip.
