I take my daughter to Dr. Burton. She originally saw Dr. Franco in Califonia

who set up her protocol. has Juv.RA and it was not practical for us

to continue to go back and forth to CA. We were unable to find a pediatric

Rheum.in the NY/NJ area who would work with the antibiotic therapy. Dr. Burton

was recommended and we have been reasonably pleased. If you decide to see him

you need to know the following. First he is very big on the no fillings

mercury thing. He has a dentist that he suggests people see to have fillings

removed. Since had no fillings this was not an issue for us. He is

also

very much into alternative therapies that include diet, supplements, peroxide

baths, detoxing. Again as you can tell from the website many people with RA

find this a good thing in a Dr.

Depending on your point of view this is a good or bad thing. He is very

chatty and if you are not careful to keep him on track will wander off course.

He

is more than willing to spend more than the generally allotted 15 minutes our

rheumatologist gave us. This usually makes him run late seeing patients.

On the whole, I like him and we will continue to see him until she is 16 and

then will go over to Dr. Whitman who is only 10 minutes from where we live.

We have only paid for the office visit because he was monitoring her original

protocol and now that she is off antibiotics still needs to be monitored. I

have purchased some supplements but only the ones we would use anyway.

Hope this helps,

Jessie Dutton, whose story is on www.rheumatic.org was treated by Dr. Burton

for a time. You might contact her.

I think her email address is listed at the end of her story or else her

mother's phone number.

Jane, I have not seen Doctor Burton so I cannot help you there. I have only

good feedback about Doctor Whitman in NJ. Like you, I also wanted a bit

more. I use the hormonal troches as my glands really crashed with my disease.

If you can get your other " things " from one place, why not continue using

Doctor Whitman who has a wonderful track record? That said, I do LOVE my

hormonal therapy.

Jane, one more thought. Try to save up and get those mercury fillings out

one at a time if that is the only way. I do understand the money thing but

this is one place I would prioritize.

Jane, bioidentical hormones can be wonderful and can even help with pain.

Be sure you are well monitored if you are at all sensitive to medications

and that you take a few days off each month. I am still dealing, after 7

very difficult months, with the effects of too much cream for my body. I

would urge periodic saliva testing and reading Dr. R. Lee's books.

Hi Jane:

I don't know where you live in PA, but is sounds like you are minutes away from

me. I live in Gilbertsville, PA, near Pottstown, a small town by Boyertown and

inbetween town and Pottstown. I was diagnosed with Scleroderma years ago

and now go to Dr. Kracht in Quakertown. He is wonderful, very difficult

to get into as a first time patient, but very, very knowledgable. He is also

into alternative medicine and traditional medicine. However, his office may be

of interest to you.

If you want to call me, contact me and I'll send you my phone number.

Hi Jane,

I see DR Whitman as well and adore him...I don't feel I would be alive if

not for DR W...

I realize all patients with these diseases are different, what works for

one, will NOT necessarily work for another...Dr Whitman told me at one of my

appts that he did not think hormone therapy would help me and was leery of

it...for me...so please consult DR W and let him know what you are

interested in pursuing...just my opinion...hope you don't mind my

input...suggestion...Debbie G
