Guest guest Posted December 22, 2003 Report Share Posted December 22, 2003 Five Star Ghirardelli Double Decadent Chocolate Chip Cookies 2 bags (11.5 oz each) Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Chips (or the best you can find) 1/2 stick softened butter 3/4 C brown sugar, packed 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 C all-purpose flour 1/4 tsp. baking powder 2 C chopped walnuts, (optional) Preheat oven to 350 Place 1 1/3C of chips in a large bowl and microwave on HIGH power for 1-2 minutes. Remove & stir until chocolate is melted and smooth. If not melted, microwave for additional 30-second increments until smooth. Stir in butter with a wooden spoon until blended. Add brown sugar and stir. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until smooth. Stir flour with baking powder in a small bowl; add to chocolate mixture and mix slowly until blended. Fold in reserved chips and nuts. Mixture will seem thin. Place bowl in refrigerator for 5 minutes. Drop by heaping tablespoon onto an ungreased baking sheet. (non-stick is the best but when I bake on non-stick, I use a little Pam then wipe most of it off) Bake for 12-14 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes on sheet then transfer to wire rack (or if you are like me, your mouth) Makes about 18 cookies.
