what are the possible starchy spices?

> Enjoy those yummy shrimp. This week the family celebrated a

birthday at a Chinese restaurant. Their dishes contained illegal

cornstarch and possibly starchy spices. I was safe and satisfied

with a large bowl of fresh steamed shrimp lightly buttered served on

sprigs of lemon grass and cilantro.
