Hey, a B., Sepsis is the most awful condition. I had that with an abcess that developed on my

left kidney. By the time the doctors paid attention to me, I was in an ambulance on my way to the

ER, running a fever of 105+, and incoherent. I vaguely remember my PC flying in from some out

of state conference (He had been away for about two weeks, and one of his junior partners was

taking his patients, and she had misdiagnosed me TWICE with Australian flu...but didn't bother to run

Urine or Blood work.) and arriving at the ER just in time to catch me sort of awake. I remember him

getting right in my face and telling me that if I didn't start fighting back, they were going to lose

me. Then I was in a Demerol fog for almost six days. When I woke up from that, people started

telling me all the weird and wacky things I did while "under the influence".

However, one very clear memory stands out, and that was a conversation I had with my late parents,

just this side of a big door. It was a very loving and happy talk, but then my parents had to leave,

and they gently but firmly refused to take me with them through that door. The nurse told me later

that she came into my room to find me pounding on the sides of the bed, shouting, "Open that door!

Open the G** D*** Door and let me in!" I still remember how disappointed I felt when I woke up.

Guess it wasn't my turn to leave the planet, huh? So, you are right about sepsis, you ARE too sick to

die.

Well, did everyone decide who was driving which vehicle? I am just waking up, since I fell asleep at

the wheel, I guess. Brain fog has settled in, as well as the pea soup outside. Hugs, MM

MM - I've pretty much decided I'm through with sepsis. When your blood is totally infected it makes staying alive fairly difficult.

I don't know who ended up driving what. All I know is I dozed off and when I woke up Barb was trying to shove a cookie in my mouth. Hugs - a
