Guest guest
, awareness of what YOU want/are 'at' etc. is an excellent starting place. For the greatest part, most of us start out with a strong focus on foods which is only natural seeing that is what diet mentality hammered at us up until this point. Re-learning your hunger isn't only about what you eat, and even 'how much' you eat - as MEASURED (amount/type). The first big 'trick' that could help you most is to see if you can re-acquaint with YOUR 'measuring' tool - body hungers. The legalizing process helps to re-train your HEAD that FOOD IS FOOD. What is 'good' food for me is those that I enjoy eating (taste/texture) AND that my body enjoys too (receives well). 'Bad' foods are those that I either don't like - taste - AND/OR my body doesn't appreciate receiving. I went to the grocery store last night and gave myself permission to get some things I normally don't buy. About a year ago, I gave up high fructose corn syrup and anything that contains partially hydrogenated fats. This limits what " treats " i can buy. I wanted i cream but all the kinds i like had high fructose and some had partially hydrogenated fats. I finally got breyers natural mint chocolate chip ice cream, some dove chocolates and Chex mix. I had a health nut smoothie from Tropical smoothie ( I never tried this before, since it was too high in calories) for dinner and then hit the gym. when I got home and showered I was hungry so I had some chex mix and chocolate, and some fresh pineapple. I ended up eating too much and felt sick. I had about two handfuls of chex mix, a good size bowl of pineapple and about eight dove chocolates. I think the chex mix was too sweet. I told my son he could have the rest of the bag. i normally eat dark chocolate, but thought maybe i was doing that for diet reasons, so i bought the milk chocolate, it was too sweet also. So i learned I really don't like Check mix sweet and salty, even though I crave it sometimes and that I really do just prefer dark chocolate. > > This morning I had a glass of skim milk before leaving the house and have had half and apple so far. I just decided not that i am hungry enough to eat my oatmeal. > > >
