Molly, Sorry it took me 5 days to respond, I am just now on the computer. I

appreciate the lighting of the candle. Whenever I am traveling and we tour

cathedrals I always light a candle for the family of the young man who so

generously gave me his liver. I get choked up every time. Thanks for

continuing to think of me. Love those prayers!

He was not exagerating. i find the enzymes have a noticable flavour. I cannot

stand them in drinks. i did have to experiment a bit with one, as it was

revolting. Now I am accustomed to them, it does not seem so bad, but I still

treat myself to a meal without enzymes sometimes just to enjoy the flavour of

the food.

Hi Mike,

My son's experience is that enzymes taste DREADFUL, but he has an

oral sensory issue so he could be overstating the issue.

However, he refused to take enzymes in his food and he won't drink

water if there is anything mixed in it (water is his only drink

except night bottle - he's 3 years old).

We took a long time and many trials to finally get him to take

enzymes. Only last month he finally started taking them regularly

with minor protestations - this was thanks to the help of a

compounding chemist/pharmacist who provided a suspension to mix them

in. Also provided were flavours and lots of support and

encouragement from the chemist. We now use a strong peppermint

flavour (which my son adores) in the suspension.

I don't know what sort of products are OTC for you but you might

actually find a flavoured suspension OTC instead of needing it to be

made up for you.

All the best. Your son might not find the taste at all difficult.

Carol,

I've read recently in Life Extension Foundation magazine that SAMe is VERY

good for fatty liver disease which apparently is very common, but also to be

taken seriously.

It has no side effects and is also good for mild to moderate depression, but

the main point was it's amazing benefits for the liver.
