Guest guest
I also have noticed some problems with the zinco. I'm willing to give it a few more days because the improvements have been good. I did not realize how swollen and red my cheeks were. they are now back to normal. but I have lots of the small rash like bumps appearing. Which had diminished since I started using the jojoba/safflower oil from Dr. Sy. I'm still using this morning and night under the zinco. Any suggestions on how long I should stick it out? a Zinco I too have been extremely flushed, broken out, blushed, and more this week... why??? is it the zincO??? I also stopped all my meds, psychological??? is it that?? who is having a prob with the zincO??? why isnt it much gentler and much more preservative free?? bye ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Please read the list highlights thoroughly before posting to the whole group. see http://ii.net/~dp/rosacea/toc.html To leave the list send an email to rosacea-support-unsubscribeegroups ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Create a poll/survey for your group! -- /vote?listname=rosacea-support & m=

Guest guest
I like the Zinco too it goes on real well and feels so nice on my skin. It helps the texture but I am sorry to say does not help the flushing but maybe that will come with more use. I guess photoderm is my next step to get rid of the damaged vessels that keep causing the flushing. Hey my big fear is that I will go to the doctor for a consultatoin and he will tell me oops sorry you are not a good candidate can't help you. Anyone else think this prior to their photoderm or am I the only nuerotic? LOL Noreen

Guest guest
I'm getting great results! I got my tube slightly over one week ago and am using it every morning. It's *significantly* decreased the redness and is well tolerated by my skin. I have combo skin (very oily t-zone), it seems to be just enough moisturizer for me w/o increasing the oiliness. I'm not getting any tightness or breakouts. I'm amazed at the way my face looks - I really didn't think it would make as big a difference as it is. I don't post real frequently to the group because I view the alternative list archive, where you can't respond directly, but I've read every day for the last 10 months and have gotten wonderful suggestions here - grapeseed extract, EPO, zinc oxide, jojoba oil, makeup, powder, acne cover lotion, food triggers ... Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions and support. " chris and artist " wrote: original article:/group/rosacea-support/?start=14 670 > Group: Is anyone having good results with the zinco? Guest guest
Looking over the past few weeks of posts, you'll find lots of people who've had great experiences with ZincO Cream. I'm still doing great on it. I react to almost all commercial products. After almost 3 to 4 months of using ZincO, my face still loves it. I think one of the problems that arise for those who are formulating otc products for rosacea is that there are no consistent triggers among us. I hope that helps! Guest guest
Yes, I'm having wonderful results, and I've had a pretty poor history with all things topical! The color seemed a little too orange at first, but I'm either applying it differently now or getting used to it because I don't notice it anymore. It doesn't so much " cover-up " as " blend " the skin tone, which I like--it doesn't look like I'm wearing a cakey concealer or anything, much more natural. And my skin feels so smooth, now--it helps to keep the bumps at bay, but even the areas of my skin that aren't affected by the rosacea are benefitting from the Zinc-O. I really am pleased with it. And if I apply it while my skin is still slightly damp, it functions wonderfully as a moisturizer. I've even tried putting 's concealing powder over top, and it looks quite nice--looks like I'm wearing a little make-up, which I am, but nothing overbearing (I'm real concerned with this--I'm an all-natural gal!). And it doesn't feel heavy, like many moisturizers and make-ups I've tried. Believe me, I was surprised that I've fared so well with this--I'm sure the improvement I've been experiencing from photoderm has allowed my skin to tolerate things it couldn't tolerate 6 months ago. For those who have mentioned that their skin feels warm or begins to flush when they apply the Zinc-O: I know that my skin often feels this way when I apply just about anything, and I've found that it's really the friction of my rubbing the compound into the skin. I'm especially susceptible to this feeling if I've just washed my skin. I don't seem to have much of that now, thanks to photoderm, but I'm familiar with the feeling many of you have described. Perhaps that's what's happening to some of you, rather than a reaction to the ingredients in the product itself. Take care... --- and Artist wrote: > > Group: Is anyone having good results with the > zinco? Guest guest
Jim, ZincO is not an oil-based product or I wouldn't be able to use it. I think it has a minute amount of olive oil in it. Olive oil is the 15th ingredient listed out of 18 listed. A topical application of olive oil on my skin would make it into " bump city " ! Also, applying rosacea-friendly oils such as jojoba, Dr. Sy's vita oil or hemp oil seems to cool my face down. It's funny how some of us react the opposite with the same ingredients. I do know that iron oxides in some eyeshadows give me a red, burning rash. It says on the label that iron oxides may be in ZincO. Could this be the culprit for some? I don't know if it is. I'm just guessing. Guest guest
OOPS! Thanks for the correction; there is enough confusion out there already concerning Zinc-O. I tried to verify the ingredients before posting, but could not locate them on the new web site. I remembered that it contained Olive Oil. I'll check it out some more when the new web site is up. Guest guest
Beth's definitely on target here--if you have a pre-existing condition that makes you extremely photosensitive (e.g., lupus) or one that interferes with your healing processes (a blood disorder or diabetes), you may be turned away. Most docs don't like to treat during pregnancy either (less because of potential harm to the fetus than because pregnancy taxes your immune system such that healing is often slower), and most will ask you to wait 6mos or so post Accutane treatment. Those are the only stipulations I know of. I was nervous, too, Noreen--I had heard such wonderful things about this treatment that I dreaded the possibility that a provider would tell me I couldn't have it done! However, two things to remember are: 1) you're probably eligible anyway, and 2) there are, as we are all learning, many many different ways of managing rosacea--if photoderm is not an option for you, there are others. Good luck! --- BADAMS6663@... wrote: > > Noreen, > > It's certainly understandable that you would fear > being told you are not a > " good candidate " for photoderm. Guest guest
M No, people don't comment, but the redness on my face is more evident with Dr. Sy's. It helps conceal it, but it doesn't cover it like the Aloe up does. The only drawbacks to the Aloe up are the fact that it rubs off and that it doesn't apply well with the seb derm. Guest guest
I have been using Dr. Sy's Zinco for the last week, and so far the results have been amazing. I have not flushed once since using it, it protects me from the sun and heat (I'm out in LA right now where it is warm and sunny), and it has a calming effect on the already existing redness. I hardly look red at all anymore. I hope it continues to work this well. For the last two months, before trying zinco, my flushing had really worsened, and I was considering photoderm. Now, I don't really see the point. The only thing I would like to change about my skin now is the pore size on my cheeks from too much oil production. Unfortunately, it appears that retin a is the only possible way to improve it. I am afraid to try it, though, even in a mild form. Does anyone have any advice on this? Thanks.
