Guest guest
For those of you who have switched to doxy from another antibiotic, please tell me if you had a long herx? I switched to doxy from another antibiotic and have had a long flair. Usually I find that I bounce back quickly, but not this time. (I have SD). Has anyone experienced this? If so how long did this take to feel better again? Roni
Guest guest
I don't know where you live. I get 100mg of doxy no problem and my grocery store gives it free! Guest guest
Hi Carole I am in Canada where doxy isn't free. I think that's a US thing? Also the issue isn't getting 100 mg of doxy. That is no problem. I want 50 mg caps of brand doxy and that I cannot find. I don't know where you live. I get 100mg of doxy no problem and my grocery store gives it free! Guest guest
Hi Lynne Thanks for the info. Good to hear from you. So you think brand is important to get? Unfortunately I can't eat bread so maybe I can put it in some coconut yogurt? So doxy does not need to be taken on am empty stomach like mino? Thanks Hi ; I hardly ever turn on my computer when I am busy and often go weeks without looking at it.Caught your post just in time.It is usually cheaper to get 100 mg capsules.Just carefully open it up ,make sure you have equal amounts in each and make a little plug with a bit of bread.Woks just fine. Guest guest
PLEASE eat on Doxy!!!!! Your stomach will hurt if you don't. I gave this out in a clinic for 14 years and we always told people to eat. It gets absorbed with food. cooky From: rheumatic [mailto:rheumatic ] On Behalf Of Sauve Sent: Thursday, January 13, 2011 2:23 PM rheumatic ; lynneandsantos Subject: rheumatic Re: doxy Hi Lynne Thanks for the info. Guest guest
, I'm not sure about doxy, but minocin taken without capsule is damaging to the esophagus. That is why is is recommnded to stay upright for 1/2 hr, or so, after taking it. The capsule opening in the esophagus is considered a medical emergency because it could do serious damage. If you want to divide a capsule, just get empty gel caps and pour half into one, then close both capsules back up. Take care, Ute
Guest guest
That was my understanding as well and for the 11 yrs I've been on Minocin, have taken it 1 - 2 hrs away from food. Maybe I'm just one of the cases where it has never bothered my stomach. If it did, I would for certain take it with a little bit of food. Again it shows us that each one of us is different. Guest guest
Minocin is a totally different animal. Just like tetracycline is. Minocin CAN be taken with food. Doxy sSHOULD be taken with food and Tetracycline should NEVER be taken with food. J Cooky From: rheumatic [mailto:rheumatic ] On Behalf Of Judkeels@...
