Guest guest
Hi Ramona, I'll bet the surgery has made a difference, and who knows you might not have even been able to avoid landing on your nephew in the past! So glad you weren't seriously hurt and are able to move around so much better. I just lost my footing and fell backwards on my back. I was reaching for sometimes that was slightly out of reach and my nephew who is visiting is sleeping on the floor was slightly in the way. I almost fell on him but I just barely managed to avoid squashing him and rolled onto my back. I am a bit sore right now but it made me reflect on how far I have come in two years. If this had happened 2 years ago I would have not been able to get up. I sure was suprised when it happened and how easily I got up. It does make me so much more appreciative of the surgery and all of the gifts it has given me. One of the great one is mobility. To be able to walk down to the mail box instead of having to drive. There were so many thing that I wasn't able to do because of the weight that I am now able to enjoy.Ramona
Guest guest
I used to fall a lot before surgery, and have only fallen once (after tripping over an electrical cord) since. I definitely feel I am better able to "catch myself" since losing 105 pounds. Was thinking about that the other day when I was "zig zagging" over some uneven sidewalk/landscaping -- I wouldn't have been able to do that so smoothly prior to surgery. :-))))) Laurie W. Guest guest
Hi Ramona, Sorry to hear about your fall, but I'm glad to hear that you weren't hurt and could pick yourself up. I gotta agree with you. One of the greatest gifts this surgery has given me is mobility. When I think back to dragging myself around on crutches . . . well, I just give thanks that I am no longer that person. I'm still waiting to hear about the scheduling for my knee replacements, but even with the messed-up knees I've got, I'm getting around so much better than I could ever have imagined.
