Mmmm Sounds delicious!

That is all there is to apple sauce in baking! Actually, with banana bread, I

just leave out the shortening and don't replace. The bananas also act like a

moistener. Just be sure to grease the pan well. I also cut out some waxed

paper for the bottom of the pan and it comes out like a charm! BTW, I have

an awesome banana bread recipe that I created that is full of whole grains,

low fat and delish! If you would like it email me!

As for freezing the apple sauce, I don't know. I have kept apple sauce in the

fridge for a week, but haven't tried past that.

Aloha!

When I make applesauce, you boil the apples, so that they soften, and then

moosh them up, adding sugar and sometimes cinnamon. But, hey, maybe you

discovered a new way ;-)

The applesauce we make lasts a good week in the fridge. We also freeze it.

To defrost it, I just pull it out and let it sit in the fridge till it's soft

again ;-)

Good luck.

Hey maybe I did. I saved a step no boiling :) and we don't need the added

sugar around here anyway. Apples are naturally sweet so I can skip that too.

:) Of course it did feel like ti was missing somthing I bet it was the sugar

but in time you get used to anything.

I usually simmer peeled and cored apples till soft then eat it chunky or

mash w/a fork or puree in blender! You can freeze apple sauce for up to

a month! Let me know how your bread came out! Sue;)

MMmm that sounds wonderful! I looove zucchini bread.

I guess this answers a quesion that I was going to post today- I was going

to ask if nursing moms can eat honey. I guess since you put it in your bread

it means it would be okay. ;-)

I think a recipe swap would be a great idea.

I learned the hard way that a bug or virus in mom's system doesn't pass

into the milk to the baby's system. :) It can spread hand-to-mouth,

but not via milk. I learned this when was newborn, had food

poisoning and called my LLL Leader at 2 am! lol Oops! She wasn't

upset that I called, but it was one of those things that should have

just made sense to me that didn't!

Honey's threat to babies is the threat of a botulism spore that can be

found in it. In a mother's digestive system, it would be killed

quickly, and not likely to pose any problem. In a person who has an

underdeveloped or under-immune digestive system, it could be troublesome

or fatal.

There are a few recipes that we have done this past week from a recipe

book I got from our LLL Lending Library called " Whole Foods for Kids to

Cook, " and my 6 year old son loves it! I'll post the zucchini bread.

:)
