Guest guest
Hi ..in the big city, the issue is sitting in the front of the bus seats marked for disabled people, or asking on the subway to have some young person stand up from the seats resserved for disabled or elderly. (Ive stopped asking on the subway, where things are a little less civilized for some reason). I get people saying 'you dont look disabled, youre lying. I just sigh and stand there. It's too embarassing in a bus full of people to explain not all disabilities are apparent to the eye. Do you have a disabled sticker or liscnce plate? I often feel i want to park in those places and deserve to, even tho i dont have a wheelchair. If you dont haVe a sticker, do you get parking tickets? hugs, leslie > I have 3x5 cards in my van. > > When I am confronted by people when I use the Handicap Parking space, I > give them one. > > It states : > > I have had 4 heart attacks. Guest guest
I have the same problem with " looking healthy. " I have a handicap plaque and get dirty looks all the time. Also if you are in a long line at the restroom IF you have your paper (the one issued along with the plaque) you can go in front of everyone. A lot of people don't realize that that bathroom is for handicapped people.
