non supportive moms

It sounds like a lot of us had disfunctional moms or dads.I didn't mention my

dad but he was pretty disfunctional. He is not here on this earth anymore.

Sometimes I feel him with me because I smell the cigerates he used to smoke. I

think it's him or maybe i'm losing it.I think he loved me in his own way. He

came from a long line of alcolholics. My mom came from a good family and had

very good parents in fact they raised me because my mom couldn't deal with me

from six weeks old. I went back home when I was about three. My Grandma loved me

just like I was and so did my Grandpa. In fact they thought I was the most

beautiful thing in the world. My Grandma was kind of the buffer between us. They

are both gone now and I miss them so much. I wish my mom wasn't so mean. My son

and his wife check on her because they live kind of near her. They drove five

hours to be with her on thanksgiving but she didn't want to visit.No suprise we

are all used to her. I just want everyone to know how much it helps to read your

post. I have learned so much from everyone. I don't think about dieting as much

and when I do I just get online and i'm OK. My husband loves it because he has

been trying to get me to accept myself with not much luck.

Hi Judy,

I'm glad you have the memory of your grandparents :.) That's something you can always remember and draw strength from.

I also find that I come on-line if something IE seems challenging in the moment, like waiting for hunger, or dealing with feelings instead of eating. This support is a real Godsend. I didn't do 1/4 so well when I was figuring it all out on my own.
