Guest guest
Hi Constance, Katcha gave you awesome tips! I just wanted to say that mis-steps are totally normal as you are learning IE; you have to experience it and sometimes there's trial and error involved! I like the idea of throwing out self-blame. Become a non-judgmental and curious observer of your behavior around food, your feelings, etc. I don't yell at myself or blame myself for anything, even if, to my eyes, it was a mistake! :.) Think about it this way; we're doing the best we can and none of this is a moral issue. If I ate 10 pizzas in one day that is not a crime; it's not a sin or immoral. I would feel very, very stuffed and very sick no doubt, lol, and instead of blaming myself and hating myself for it, I would stand back and objectively observe that I am feeling very sick, actually very, very sick, from all the pizzas and maybe I can adjust my behavior for next time; no yelling at myself or hating myself; it's not a crime! I'm allowed to have 20 pizzas if I want to !! But maybe it's a mistake, not because I'm not allowed to and not because it's a moral sin, but only because it made me feel very sick to have 10 pizzas in one day, lmao!! Oh, and maybe it did distract me from feelings which would be useful to sit with and notice. I think that if you go to the group site and read back through the last week's worth of posts, you will find LOTS of good input for you to ponder and choose suggestions from. Weighing is a big issue for most of us, especially at first. It can be a real 'catch-22' with pretty much only negative results which is why it is not recommended. Guest guest
Constance, hello! I'm a newbie as well and weigh myself on occasion. However, I've decided not to give the scale the power to ruin my day as it did in the past or make me feel bad by what it says. Welcome, Jeanne
