Its only a word!

I wanted to make a note, no admonishment, no sludge-hammer type suggestion, just

a hmmm, this occurred to me and wanted to share it . . .

As I have been reading the word 'crave' mentioned, I felt myself getting

(softly) triggered probably because it hooks into my good-bad thinking left over

from diet mentality? Anyway, if I am thinking 'my body is craving XXX' I feel a

cross between a little kid sneaking what I secretly want and a self justifying

rational for having that too. Either way, something deep down feels 'bad' about

having what I 'want' and then my rebellion jumps into the dance with 'you CAN

have what you want any time!' etc. etc. What a mess of thinking from one little

word!

So, for myself, I'm going to see if I can side step this mind mambo and get

myself back on track with slipping in 'direct (towards)' in place of 'crave'.

After all that is what is really happening - my body is trying to let me know

what IT would prefer and I don't need to dress that message up with all sorts of

extra hanger-ons and left overs from more negative responses. Plus I realized

that when by body gets to the CRAVE level, its probably gone beyond the 'please,

may I have this' stage and is into 'I want this NOW!' point. That is more likely

to be the first step towards overeating whatever I didn't respond to before and

at a subtle level. Grrrr - too much 'will power' and not enough 'yes, will do,

thank you dear body for letting me know'.

All this over a word!! Thanks for reading my wandering vent :) :)
