Guest guest
Hi , Yes, you're right, it was actually quite exciting to look over the "strange" fruits, lol! At shoprite they provide preparation instructions so that helps a lot too. I'm really letting myself have whatever I want even if it's a teaspoon of pure butter (ok maybe that's an exaggeration, lol!) so I'm doing what I can to have a full range of foods available; something in me says it's not right to have a pie and a cake and not some really great fruits and veggies because my internal body wisdom might tell me to have the fruit instead of the cake sometimes; and it does. I'm noticing interesting things; I craved eggs for a day and then this morning woke up and the last thing I wanted was an egg; I'm starting to be really sure that the body does know what to have as well as when and how much :.) Thanks for the reply and hope your day is going well, Laurie To: IntuitiveEating_Support Sent: Wed, December 16, 2009 9:56:29 AMSubject: Re: It's been a tough day but also did something good Hi Laurie,Don't you love finding new foods? I always try to find the weirdest looking fruit or vegetable at my food co-op and try them. Makes food exciting, and helps you to break out of your food rut.Enjoy!>> Hi Everybody,> > It's been a kind of tough day for following hunger and fullness cues because I did feel temptation to use food for comfort. And basically I ate once when not hungry, but I remembered to have a relaxed attitude about it and no harm done really.> > Well yesterday I had stocked up on some previously forbidden foods such as pie, and today I noticed I was running low on fruits and veggies, so I went to Shoprite and instead of getting the usual, I made a point of getting some brand new fruits and veggies that I hadn't ever eaten before; I got fresh mango and a star fruit, plus I got escarole which I never have at home. So I'm kind of excited about trying these foods next time my body craves fruit or veggie.> > Laurie>
Guest guest
Hi , Your soup sounds delicious. I made an Italian soup; chicken vegetable with tiny Italian meatballs. It was really nice and I plan to try some with escarole added. Sounds like you had a wonderful shopping trip. What I think is astonishing is when we really can have whatever we want, the foods really do equalize in a psychological sense. It's just great to have the freedom to choose from all foods and it is reassuring to notice that the choices are very varied. I was at a health food market similar to WholeFoods and My "inner kid" had chosen organic carrots, cabbage, pears, lettuce, grapes, onions. I went home and made a cabbage/onion carrotsoup with a tomato and chicken broth base.Escarole, by the way, goes well in a soup. Dom Dee has an escorolesoup recipe which my husband has made.Talking about foods which have more nutrition is not meant to triggeranyone. I treat all foods the same on a "psychological" level (to useHirschmann and Munter's phrase.) All foods can be a delight.>> Hi Everybody,>> It's been a kind of tough day for following hunger and fullness cuesbecause I did feel temptation to use food for comfort.
