Hello!

I was wondering if anyone has tried the Cheese Bread recipe on page 99

of BTVC, ninth edition. It doesn't give a length of time to bake and

I'm not good enough in the kitchen to be able to just figure it out.

Also, I have some cooked butternut squash. Does anyone have a

bread/muffin recipe in which I could use this?

Thank you,

cathy

,

The butternut squash could be used to make the sneaky

pancakes, chicken cupcakes, peanut butter squash brownies or

to make the pumpkin pie filling.

Sorry, I have never made the cheese bread. So, I don't know how

long to cook it. When in doubt I just turn my oven light on and sit

and watch the item cook. Once it begins to brown, I just note the

time and take the item out.

Hi ,

It depends on what size pan you use to bake it. I also lower the

temperature of the oven to about 325°F. For a regular loaf pan I

bake it about 20-25 minutes. About 15-20 minutes if I bake it in 3 " x

5 " loaf pans.

I have also baked it as a base for pizza. Pretty tasty!

I use squash in all sorts of things. I've made mock potato salad (we

call it sunshine salad), in " pumpkin pie " , sustituted it for potato

in Vichyssoise (potato and Leek soup) etc. I've also used it when

making souffle bread (the nut and dairy free version).
