Guest guest
Mojo, First let me say, there is no pain that compares to pancreatitus pain! I am a chronic Pancreatitus patient...... Weston also suffers from Pancreatitus. (Which is how we met!) I will tell you my secret to staying out of the hospital and avoiding the NG tube................ Eat limited quantites of red meat........it makes your pancreas work harder to digest.................... No Tuna! No matter how it is packed it always sets me off! VERY limited grease! No kernal things.....pop corn(I know this is your love), peas, corn limited dairy because of the fat. NO ALCOHOL......(watch your mouthwash as well, it has alcohol in it, cough medicine) When you feel your dull ache starting, immediatley limit your food intake and rest! I usually drink clear liquids for a few days and have been able to avoid the hospital. Once I start getting the uncomfortable pain I go right to the ER.....the sooner you get on IVs the easier it is to treat. You learn over time when it can be controlled and when to throw in the towel! Medicines for me to avoid are any with HCL's in them. I don't know what Zocor has in it. I hope this helps........if you have any other questions I would be glad to help......I'll send you my Phone # privtely! Feel better!
